Top athletes: Alex Hicks (Sr.), Brady Williams (Jr.), Tyrell Crosby (Sr.), David Berg (So.), Ian Mack (Jr.), Austin Rogers (So.), Lenny Rubi (Fr.), Ben Stock (Jr.)

Outlook: Hicks, the Sunrise Region runnerup in all three jumps, leads a list of 17 returnees.

Mack was the region runnerup in the 200 and placed third in the region in the 100, and Crosby was a state qualifier in the discus.

“We have good depth, though a little young,” Thompson said. “We should contend for the Sunrise Region championship.”

Liberty girls win 5A state track title; tie for boys crown

The Liberty girls track team won the Class 5A state title Saturday, snapping Centennial’s run of 10 straight crowns. Liberty and Faith Lutheran are boys co-champions.
