VOLLEYBALL: Nitollama sparks Gators to win over Cowboys

Arvin Nitollama had 28 assists and five aces Monday to help Green Valley’s boys volleyball team to a 25-18, 20-25, 25-16, 25-21 win over visiting Chaparral.

Zack Hewitt had 14 kills, and Eric Medina added 10 digs for the Gators.

Pierce Morgan paced Chaparral with 10 kills and four aces. Jose Chavez added two kills and four blocks, and Meldrick Nava contributed three kills and three blocks for the Cowboys.

Bishop Gorman 3, Desert Oasis 1 — At Gorman, Tony Pitaro had 18 kills and three digs as the Gaels defeated the Diamondbacks, 25-21, 25-7, 23-25, 25-18.

Charles Pollnow had nine kills and eight digs, and Cody Tom had 31 assists for Gorman.

Basic 3, Liberty 1 — At Basic, Auston Farrington had 14 kills to help the Wolves rally for a 17-25, 25-17, 25-22, 25-16 win over the Patriots.

Austin McDonald had 24 digs, and Taylor Dyer added 32 assists for the Wolves.

Centennial 3, Cimarron-Memorial 0 — At Centennial, Tanner Durkin had nine kills and three aces to lead the Bulldogs over the Spartans 25-11, 25-15, 25-12.

Chet Durkin added three kills, two aces and 27 assists, and Thomas Felt had three kills for Centennial.

Nate Starlin had four assists, and teammate Dallas Cervantes recorded three kills and three digs for Cimarron.

Foothill 3, Eldorado 0 — At Foothill, Trevor Robison had 11 kills, five aces and five digs to lead Foothill to a 25-22, 25-18, 25-16 sweep of Eldorado.

Taeg Williams supplied 28 assists, five aces and four digs for the Falcons.

Legacy 3, Bonanza 0 — At Bonanza, Anthony Madden had eight kills and four blocks, and Jonah Tarlton had seven kills and four blocks to help the Longhorns to a 25-20, 25-23, 25-12 victory over the Bengals.

Omari Wheeler had three kills, and Noah Chavez supplied six digs for Legacy.

Brian Clow had nine kills, and Joshua Lee had 16 assists for Bonanza, which got six kills from Kellen Layne and five kills from Andrew Jensen.

Coronado 3, Del Sol 0 — At Coronado, Travis Boman had seven kills and five aces, and Sam Cox added five aces and eight digs to lead the Cougars to a 25-10, 25-13, 25-13 sweep of the Dragons.

Logan Dickover had 28 assists, six digs and three aces, and C.J. Michie added five kills for Coronado.

Jay Peete had four digs, and Josue Aguirre supplied two kills for Del Sol.
