BOYS SOCCER: Diamondbacks hold off Longhorns

Gilbert Castro and Eric Biorato each scored one goal Monday to help Desert Oasis’ boys soccer team upend visiting Legacy, 2-1.

The Longhorns’ Luka Skrinjaric converted a penalty kick with eight minutes left to cut the Diamondbacks’ lead in half.

Mojave 3, Cheyenne 2 — At Cheyenne, Lynno Muro’s goal with five minutes left in the match broke a 2-2 tie and lifted the Rattlers by the Desert Sields.

Bryan Alvarez had a goal and an assist, and Christian Martinez also scored for Mojave, which got two assists from Cristopher Pulido.

Omar Garcia and Johnny Ramos each had a goal, and Geovanni Pizano had two assists for Cheyenne.

Cimarron-Memorial 3, Bishop Gorman 1 — At Gorman, Garrick Quackenbush had two goals to help the Spartans top the Gaels.

Scotty Robles also scored for Cimarron.

Jorge Paez scored for Gorman.

Centennial 2, Bonanza 1 — At Centennial, Pablo Gatti and Phillip Hopper each netted a first-half goal to lift the Bulldogs past the Bengals.

Juan Espana scored for Bonanza.

Pahrump Valley 3, Faith Lutheran 2 — At Faith Lutheran, the Trojans scored three second-half goals to defeat the Crusaders.

Aaron Alcarez, Jose Nunez and Jason Runnion each scored for Pahrump, which rallied from a 2-0 halftime deficit.

Tristan Tomburo and Chase Carey had Faith Lutheran’s goals.

Virgin Valley 2, Moapa Valley 0 — At Overton, Moises Medina and Gabe Medina each scored a second-half goal to lead the Bulldogs by the Pirates.

Domingo Ramirez made eight saves to earn the shutout.

Clark 0, Western 0 — At Western, the Chargers and Warriors played to a scoreless tie.

Alan Zuniga and Oscar Martinez combined on the shutout for Clark. Manuel Guillermo registered the shutout for Western.

The Meadows 3, Adelson School 2 — At The Meadows, Philipp Hoppner had two goals and an assist to lead the Mustangs past the Lions.

Tessa DeJong added a goal for The Meadows.

Desert Pines 4, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Sunrise Mountain, Genaro Corona netted two goals to lead the Jaguars by the Miners.

Jelemes Cortez and Pablo Martinez also scored for Desert Pines.

Daniel Mendoza was credited with the shutout.

Tech 9, Boulder City 3 — At Boulder City, Derian Salcido scored three goals, and Francisco Garcia added two goals to lead the Roadrunners by the Eagles.

Julio Vargas, Guillermo Flores and Grant Samayao each scored for Tech, which also benefitted from an own goal.

Damian Vera tallied three assists for Tech.
