GIRLS SOCCER: Rodriguez scores twice as Desert Shields down Chargers

Lesly Rodriguez scored two goals Thursday to help Cheyenne’s girls soccer team to a 5-2 home win over Clark.

Jocelyn Vasquez added a goal and an assist for Cheyenne, and teammate Josie Lourenco converted a penalty kick to go along with an assist. Emily Gutierrez also scored for the Desert Shields, who led 3-0 at halftime.

Ariana Reyes had both goals for the Chargers.

Sierra Vista 5, Liberty 0 — At Liberty, Jeri Lett had three goals and an assist, and Calista Reyes added a goal and three assists to power the Mountain Lions by the Patriots.

Jasmine Morice also scored for Sierra Vista, and Dejah Burchfield and Elisea Melendez combined on the shutout.

Eldorado 3, Cimarron-Memorial 2 — At Eldorado, Cristal Mendoza had two goals and an assist to lead the Sundevils past the Spartans.

Kimberly Olivares added a goal and an assist for Eldorado.

Jazmin Centeno and Morgan Hemphill scored for the Spartans.

Silverado 7, Basic 0 — At Silverado, Danielle Parven had three goals, and Mikayla Ahlin added a goal and an assist as the Skyhawks blanked the Wolves.

Krista Lee, Melina Amadore and Cassidy Pappas each added a goal for Silverado.

Mikaila Becze was in goal for the shutout.

Foothill 6, Boulder City 0 — At Foothill, Verondrea Austin had two goals and assist to help the Falcons top the Eagles.

Hannah Harrison had a goal and an assist for Foothill, which got a goal each from Hannah Habighorst, Monica Willhite, and Sydnee Farrer.

Tiana Erb had the shutout.

Tech 9, Chaparral 1 — At Tech, Abrana Wielgosiak scored four goals, and Alex Guzman added three goals and three assists as the Roadrunners routed the Cowboys.

Adriana Guzman added two goals for Tech, which got three assists from Monica Figerora.

Rosa Martinez converted a penalty kick for Chaparral.

Virgin Valley 5, Sunrise Mountain 3 — At Sunrise Mountain, Abbie Barnum scored four goals to lead the Bulldogs by the Miners.

Marlene Quirate also scored for Virgin Valley.

Miriam Galvez had all three goals for Sunrise Mountain.

Desert Pines 7, Moapa Valley 1 — At Desert Pines, Cindy Gramajo scored twice to lead the Jaguars by the Pirates.

Yadira Hernandez, Selena Rodriguez and Mariyah Espinoza each had a goal and an assist, and Genna Marin and Genessis Martinez also scored for Desert Pines.

Diana Robles had Moapa Valley’s goal.

Green Valley 11, Durango 0 — At Green Valley, Kayla Anderson had five goals and an assist as the Gators overwhelmed the Trailblazers.

Linde Raineri added a goal and an assist, and Jessica Messer, Miranda Bradley, Kiyana Lopez, Stephanie Chaisson and Mackenzie Zurcher also scored for Green Valley.

Lopez and Cassandra Palor combined on the shutout.

Mojave 0, Western 0 — At Mojave, the Rattlers and Warriors played to a scoreless tie.

Vanessa Rojas recorded a shutout for Mojave.
