GIRLS TENNIS: Pioneers dominant in singles in win over Rancho

Ma’Jhanae Thomas, Marta Chyzh and Celia Plyman each went 3-0 in singles Tuesday to lead Canyon Springs’ girls tennis team to an 11-7 home win over Rancho.

Ayana Denham and Jonia Lavendar went 2-1 in doubles for the Pioneers.

Jennifer Deng and Emily Tran went 3-0 in doubles for Rancho.

The teams attempted to continue their suspended match from Sept. 11, but had to suspend that match again because of darkness with Canyon Springs leading, 9-7.

Arbor View 11, Durango 7 — At Durango, Elen Safarian went 2-1 in singles to help the Aggies defeat the Trailblazers.

Christina Sanders was 3-0 in singles for Durango.

The teams attempted to complete their match from Sept. 9, but were stopped by darkness with the Trailblazers leading 9-6.

Foothill 14, Del Sol 4 — At Del Sol, Hannah Stevens and Rachael Wojtkowiak went 3-0 in doubles to lead the Falcons by the Dragons.

Alyssa Miele and Madison Topham were 2-0 in doubles, and Hannah Bunker went 2-0 in singles for Foothill.

Coronado 14, Basic 4 — At Coronado, Lauren Coons was 3-0 in singles to help lead the Cougars to victory over the Wolves.

Nikoletta Nikoloff and Roberta Padalino went 3-0 in doubles for Coronado.

Liberty 14, Eldorado 4 — At Eldorado, Parker Burk was 3-0 in singles, and the duo of Megan Quandt and Yvonne Asoy went 3-0 in doubles to lead the Patriots over the Sundevils.

Payton Burk and Katerina Singh went 2-0 in doubles for Liberty.

Melissa Guerrero was 2-0 in singles for the Sundevils.

Faith Lutheran 16, Adelson School 2 — At Darling Tennis Center, Alexis Berg and Alex Wright went 2-0 in doubles as the Crusaders dominated the Lions.

Silverado 13, Las Vegas 5 — At Las Vegas, the Wildcats defeated the Skyhawks.

Sierra Vista 17, Spring Valley 1 — At Sierra Vista, the Mountain Lions routed the Grizzlies.

Green Valley 12, Valley 3 — At Green Valley, the Gators topped the Vikings in a match that was halted in the third round.

Palo Verde 17, Shadow Ridge 1 — At Shadow Ridge, the Panthers downed the Mustangs.
