VOLLEYBALL: Cabanero, Vikings top Rattlers

Gabby Cabanero had 21 kills and two digs Friday to help Valley’s girls volleyball team outlast visiting Mojave, 20-25, 25-15, 28-26, 25-17, 15-9.

Taylor Sandhu had 44 assists, four aces and four digs, and Chantelle Rigby added eight kills, five aces and two digs for the Vikings, who got eight kills from Corinne Burton.

Calvary Chapel 2, Sierra Vista 1 — At Las Vegas, Brooke Davis had 25 assists and 11 digs, and Deja Harris added 17 kills, five digs and two blocks to lift the Lions by the Mountain Lions, 25-27, 26-24, 15-8 in the Las Vegas Invitational.

Alexis Harris had four kills and four digs, and Jamie Mejia added four kills for Calvary Chapel, which got six digs from Kayla Johnson.

Coronado 2, Calvary Chapel 0 — At Las Vegas, the Cougars rolled to a 25-9, 25-11 win over the Lions in the Las Vegas Invitational.

Davis had five digs, and Deja Harris added four kills and three digs for Calvary Chapel.

Faith Lutheran 2, Legacy 0 — At Foothill, Megan Panikkar had 12 assists, and Kayla Nikodemus added nine kills to lift the Crusaders over the Longhorns, 25-18, 25-13 in the Las Vegas Invitational.

Morgan Hill had five kills, and Courtney Hansen had six digs for Faith Lutheran.

Faith Lutheran 2, Liberty 0 — At Foothill, Panikkar had 20 assists, and Nikodemus added seven kills in the Crusaders’ 25-13, 25-9 victory over the Patriots in the Las Vegas Invitational.

Gianni Giulani had five kills, and Nicole Thompson had five digs for Faith Lutheran.

Palo Verde 2, Faith Lutheran 1 — At Foothill, the Panthers outlasted the Crusaders, 25-11, 20-25, 15-8 in the Las Vegas Invitational.

Hansen had six digs, and Hill had six blocks for Faith Lutheran, which got four aces from Panikkar.
