BASEBALL: Stoneback, Sundevils quiet Rattlers with big inning

Seattle Stoneback’s two-run single broke a 2-2 tie and sparked a six-run sixth inning as Eldorado downed visiting Mojave 8-2 in baseball on Friday.
Lucio Arreola was 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI for the Sundevils, and Mike Brown tossed a six-hitter and struck out 11 to get the win.
Liam Harris was 2-for-4 with a double for Mojave.
Cimarron-Memorial 17, Western 2 — At Cimarron, Nick Borowski was 3-for-3 with three doubles and three RBIs, and Ricky Dorantes went 2-for-2 with a double and five RBIs as the Spartans routed the Warriors in five innings.
Gerald Robins, Josh Nuernberg, Tanner McAninch and Jayson Hicks each added two hits for Cimarron. Ryan McHale hit a three-run homer for the Spartans.
Moapa Valley 8, Canyon Springs 1 — At Canyon Springs, Josh Repp went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a triple and two RBIs to lead the Pirates past the Pioneers.
Jake Repp was 2-for-4 with a double to help Moapa Valley, which scored four runs in the second inning to break it open.
Coronado 11, Cheyenne 0 — At Coronado, Cain Brady went 2-for-2 with a double and a triple to help the Cougars beat the Desert Shields in five innings.
Julian Burrola hit a three-run home run in the third inning for Coronado, and four Cougars pitchers combined to toss a two-hitter.
Bishop Gorman 11, Snow Canyon (Utah) 8 — At St. George, Utah, Nick Gates hit a three-run homer in the top of the seventh to break an 8-8 tie and give the Gaels the win.
Gates was 2-for-4 with four RBIs for Gorman, which tied the game earlier in the seventh on Jerrel Latham’s solo homer.
Kenny Meimerstorf went 2-for-3 with two doubles, Willie Jumper was 2-for-4 for the Gaels.
Centennial 12, Las Vegas 7 — At Centennial, James Harbour was 2-for-4 with two RBIs to help the Bulldogs down the Wildcats.
Nate Ricksecker walked three times, was hit by a pitch and scored three runs for Centennial.
Nolan Cassell went 2-for-3 with a run for Las Vegas.
Durango 9, Legacy 7 — At Durango, Anthony Martine singled home Scott Martinez with the go-ahead run as part of a four-run sixth as the Trailblazers rallied to top the Longhorns.
Martinez went 4-for-4 with a double, a triple and three RBIs, and Martine was 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Durango, which got a home run from Scott Neighbors.
Faith Lutheran 13, Desert Pines 0 — At Faith Lutheran, Caleb Summerhays went 2-for-3 with two doubles and four RBIs as the Crusaders routed the Jaguars in five innings.
Erich Uelmen went 2-for-2 with three runs and an RBI for Faith Lutheran, which scored five runs in the second and six in the third to pull away.
John Thomas, Brandon Johnson and Jordan Dreibelbis combined on a two-hitter for the Crusaders.
Beatty 12-13, Spring Mountain 7-3 — At Beatty, Daniel Plascencia went 4-for-4 with a double and four RBIs in the second game to power the Hornets to two wins over the Golden Eagles.
