ROUNDUP: Ballaro, Capannolo help Valley boys outlast Las Vegas

Matt Ballaro had 18 kills and 11 digs, and Lorenzo Capannolo added 16 kills and 17 digs Thursday to help Valley’s boys volleyball team outlast visiting Las Vegas, 23-25, 25-21, 25-22, 24-26, 15-11.

Jack Heavey had 15 kills and 16 digs, and Sean Carter supplied 47 assists, six digs and two aces for the Vikings, who got 19 digs and two aces from David Delaney.

T.J. Esporsa had 15 kills, 18 digs and three blocks, and Blake Burgess contributed nine kills and seven blocks for the Wildcats. Evan Kindard chipped in 20 digs for Las Vegas.

Silverado 3, Green Valley 1 — At Silverado, Curtis Hadland had 20 kills and eight digs, and Bryan Skworzec added 11 kills and three aces as the Skyhawks topped the Gators, 24-26, 25-11, 25-17, 25-18.

Austin Hunt had 12 kills for Silverado.

Jake Johnson had 17 kills and three digs, and Arvin Nitollama contributed 23 assists for Green Valley, which got five digs and two aces from Kyle Accardy.

Chaparral 3, Clark 1 — At Clark, Pierce Morgan dished out 21 assists, and Dominic Carr supplied 11 kills and three blocks as the Cowboys topped the Chargers, 25-23, 23-25, 25-18, 25-22.

Jesus Botello had 14 digs for Chaparral.

Walt Benda had 10 kills and two aces, and Jose Sahagun contributed 25 assists and three blocks for Clark, which got six kills and four blocks from Jeremy Bavers.

Palo Verde 3, Sierra Vista 0 — At Sierra Vista, Brigham Clawson and Mitchell Tingey each had eight kills in the Panthers’ 25-18, 25-20, 25-11 win over the Mountain Lions.

Andrew Weston dished out 27 assists, and Rich Ryerson had five kills and three blocks for Palo Verde.

Stefan Klancnik had five kills for Sierra Vista.

Rancho 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Canyon Springs, Aaron Robles had 27 assists and seven digs to power the Rams over the Pioneers, 25-23, 25-15, 25-15.

Aaron Virani supplied 12 kills, and Jef Rebibes had 12 kills and six digs for Rancho.

Immanuel Tefuga had 11 kills, and Carl Esteban had 15 assists for Canyon Springs, which got six kills from Burkhart Faulafo.

Arbor View 3, Spring Valley 0 — At Spring Valley, Chris Heron supplied 24 assists to help the Aggies to a 25-13, 25-11, 25-19 sweep of the Grizzlies.

Brian Porter spiked 10 kills, and Gage Lujan notched 11 digs for Arbor View.

James Nunez dished out 16 assists, and Wayne Luk added 12 digs to lead Spring Valley.

Shadow Ridge 3, Durango 0 — At Shadow Ridge, Richard Sterling had 14 kills to lead the Mustangs past the Trailblazers, 25-7, 25-16, 25-12.

Joseph Madrigal contributed 11 digs, and Quinn Peterson had seven kills and three blocks for Shadow Ridge.

Pedro Abrego had 10 assists, and Paris Estrada added nine kills for Durango, which got seven digs from Victor Garcia.

Mojave 3, Desert Pines 0 — At Mojave, Jovan Carrazco dished out 28 assists to give the Rattlers a 25-15, 25-18, 25-22 sweep of the Jaguars.

Darryl Miller-Green put down 10 kills, and Lemuel Dyck supplied eight digs and seven kills for Mojave.

Bryan Garcia contributed 13 digs and 12 assists, and Jose Meza added 11 digs to lead Desert Pines.

Tech 3, Cheyenne 0 — At Cheyenne, Tyler Gardenhire had 16 kills to lead the Roadrunners over the Desert Shields, 25-11, 25-9, 25-17.

Omar Mena supplied six aces and five kills, and Brandon Finley finished with four kills and three aces for Tech.

Jehloni Whitfield had nine assists for Cheyenne, which got three kills and three blocks from Darius Gantts.

Western 3, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Western, Braeden Smith dished out 25 assists to help lead the Warriors to a 25-23, 25-20, 25-20 win over the Miners.

Vadell Wilson registered 16 kills, and Derrick Rinfrow added 10 kills for Western.
