ROUNDUP: Nelson’s second consecutive no-hitter helps Wildcats tame Vikings

Kristina Nelson fired her second straight no-hitter to lead Las Vegas High’s softball team to a 5-0 win over visiting Valley on Thursday.

Nelson, who tossed a five-inning no-hitter against Canyon Springs on Tuesday, allowed the Vikings only one baserunner — on a third-inning walk. She struck out 16 and was 4-for-4 with a double.

Kali Brockett went 3-for-3 for the Wildcats.

Green Valley 10, Silverado 8 — At Silverado, winning pitcher Fenixx Henderson went 2-for-5 with two home runs and four RBIs as the Gators outlasted the Skyhawks.

Megan Barrera was 4-for-4, and Cori Sutton went 3-for-4 with three RBIs for Green Valley. Maggie Manwarren was 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI, and Sam Loving went 3-for-4 with two runs for the Gators, who had 19 hits.

Ari Monturio was 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI, and Hanna McCall was 3-for-4 with a run for Silverado. Madison Sisco went 2-for-2 with two runs and an RBI, and Ashlee Phillips was 2-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI for the Skyhawks.

Spring Valley 2, Durango 0 — At Durango, Michaela Hood tossed a four-hitter to lead the Grizzlies by the Trailblazers.

Georgi DeLio and Martinece Robertson each had a solo home run for Spring Valley, which had just three hits.

Alyssa Martine was 2-for-3 for Durango.

Faith Lutheran 8, Western 4 — At Faith Lutheran, the Crusaders turned a triple play in the fifth inning to help secure the win over the Warriors.

Rachel Kerr was 1-for-1 with three RBIs, and Lili Bonora went 2-for-3 with a run for Faith Lutheran.

Shadow Ridge 18, Sierra Vista 3 — At Sierra Vista, Jojo Brewer was 4-for-4 with two doubles and six RBIs as the Mustangs routed the Mountain Lions in five innings.

Leizel Rivera was 2-for-2 with a triple, a double and two RBIs, and Brianna Manning went 2-for-2 with a triple and an RBI for Shadow Ridge.

Winning pitcher Tana Feiner tossed a four-hitter with eight strikeouts and went 4-for-4, and teammate Kayla Sutherland was 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Mustangs.

Sunrise Mountain 14, Pahranagat Valley 4 — At Sunrise Mountain, Bethany Connell went 3-for-3 with a double to help the Miners top the Panthers in five innings.

Imani Kroon was 2-for-2 with a triple for Sunrise Mountain.

Pahrump Valley 14, Clark 0 — At Pahrump, Whitney Roderick struck out seven and allowed no hits in three innings of work to lead the Trojans over the Chargers in five innings.

Amanda Pryor had a double, two RBIs and a run scored, and Melanie Lawdensky hit an inside-the-park home run for Pahrump.

Rancho 20, Canyon Springs 0 — At Canyon Springs, Aly Lamboo tossed a five-inning one-hitter with 13 strikeouts, and Kayla Coles went 3-for-3 with a grand slam to lead the Rams to a five-inning rout of the Pioneers.

Tiare Lee supplied a single, a triple, and three RBIs for Rancho.

Cheyenne 18, Mojave 3 — At Mojave, Megan Ingram went 4-for-5 with a two-run home run, and Jahnae Davis was 4-for-4 with a triple, three runs, and two RBIs, as the Desert Shields routed the Rattlers in five innings.

Vanessa Sanders doubled twice and had three RBIs for Cheyenne.

Danette Daguiar was 3-for-4 with a solo homer and two doubles to lead Mojave.
