ROUNDUP: Arbor View girls roll past Mustangs

Zanae Jones and DaQuanda Clay each won two individual events Tuesday to help Arbor View’s girls track team post a 103½-42½ win over visiting Shadow Ridge.

Jones won the 800-meter run in 2 minutes 26.1 seconds and the 1,600 in 5:32.9.

Clay threw 103 feet, 7 inches to win the discus and took the shot put with a distance of 30-6.

The Aggies’ Ariona Gill and Jocelyn Jordan each won one once and tied each other for first in the triple jump at 35-9. Gill won the high jump (4-8), and Jordan took the long jump (15-8).

Gaels defeat Spartans
At Bishop Gorman, April Rivers and Vashti Cunningham each took two individual events to help the Gaels to a 79-56 win over Cimarron-Memorial.

Rivers won the 100 in 12.3 and the 200 in 26.0. Cunningham claimed the 100 hurdles in 15.4 and the long jump, covering 17-2.

Cimarron’s Julianna Brooks won the 800 in 2:36.9 and the 3,200 in 13:20.8.

Suan lifts Panthers over Sierra Vista
At Palo Verde, Marissa Suan won two events to power the Panthers past the Mountain Lions 90½-50½.

Suan took first in the 1,600 (5:49.2) and the 3,200 (12:32.9). 

Quartet leads Durango by Spring Valley
At Spring Valley, Emily Casale, Garyn Hobson, Virginia Salazar-Sandoval and Chyla Bocanegra each won two events to lift Durango to a 74-58 win over the Grizzlies.

Hobson won the 100 (12.9) and 200 (26.9), and Casale took the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles (48.3). Salazar-Sandoval won the 1,600 in 5:52, and the 3,200 in 13:01, and Bocanegra captured the high jump (4-4) and long jump (15-0).

Badger, Rowlette pace Centennial
At Centennial, Sydney Badger and Tyler Rowlette each won two individual events to lead the Bulldogs to victory in a three-team meet.

Centennial had 104½ points to top Desert Oasis (71½) and the Meadows (9).

Badger won the 800 (2:20.8) and 1,600 (5:21.0), and Rowlette was first in the 200 (25.3) and 400 (57.5). Badger also ran on the winning 1,600 and 3,200 relay teams. Rowlette was on the 1,600 relay team.
