ROUNDUP: Trio pushes Clark girls past Western
Darian Gambetta, Johnice Bland and Imani May each won two individual events Wednesday to help Clark’s girls track team to an 82-28 win at Western.
Gambetta won the 800-meter run in 2 minutes, 48.3 seconds and the 1,600 in 6:01.6. Bland won the long jump with an effort of 16 feet, 2½ inches and took the 100 in 13.0. May claimed the shot put (27-9) and discus (82-2)
Rattlers take three-team meet
At Mojave, Tamara Frezell, Kalina Hason and Mica Copeland each took two individual events to help the Rattlers win a three-team meet.
Mojave had 113½ points. Cheyenne scored 28, and Word of Life had 1½ points.
Frezzell won the 400 in 1:01.4 and the 800 in 2:03.2. Hanson took the 1,600 in 7:03 and the 3,200 in 15:57. Copeland won the triple jump (33-5) and long jump (13-7½).
Mojave’s Kationa Baughman won the 300 hurdles in 48.3 and tied for first in the 100 hurdles in 17.3.
Cowboys edge Eagles
At Chaparral, the Cowboys swept the relays and edged Boulder City 72¾-72¼.
Chaparral’s Alejandra Macias won the 100 (no time) and 200 (28.0).
Boulder City’s Whitney Barlow won the 300 hurdles (51.5) and shot put (32-1).
Rodriguez, Jaguars win meet
At Mesquite, Aylin Rodriguez won the 1,600 (6:28.5) and 300 hurdles (54.4) to lead Desert Pines to victory over Virgin Valley and Lincoln County.
The Jaguars finished with 82 points. Virgin Valley had 57 and Lincoln County scored 44.
Lincoln County’s Marisa Lynn Phillips took the shot put (29-7) and discus (105-11).
