TRACK: Moore powers Palo Verde girls to win over Grizzlies

 

Grace Moore won three events Tuesday to help Palo Verde’s girls track team roll to a 133-42 win at Spring Valley.

Moore won the 100-meter hurdles in 16.8 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 53.0, and cleared 4 feet, 10 inches to win the high jump.

Shakiya Hollis swept the throwing events for the Panthers, winning the shot put (32-6) and discus (90-4).

Nelson guides Bengals by Cimarron
At Bonanza, Sianna Nelson won three events to lead the Bengals to a 77-55 win over Cimarron-Memorial.

Nelson took the 300 hurdles (54.0), long jump (16-5), and triple jump (34-11).

Emily Adams won the 1,600 (5:47.7) and 3,200 (12:33), and teammate Vasati Fiatoa took the shot put (35-2) and discus (86-2) for Bonanza.

Higgins, Leimberger lead Diamondbacks
At Desert Oasis, Kacie Higgins and Summer Leimberger each placed first in one event and second in another to lead the Diamondbacks to victory over Legacy and Word of Life.

Desert Oasis had 114 points. Legacy had 60 and Word of Life 1.

Higgins won the discus (88-5) and was second in the shot put (28-2). Leimberger was first in the 400 (1:02.0) and second in the 200 (26.0).

Graf, Wills pace Shadow Ridge to tri-meet win
At Shadow Ridge, Jessica Graf and Jessalyn Wills each won two events to help guide the Mustangs past Sierra Vista and Agassi Prep.

Graf captured the 1,600 (6:05.9) and the 3,200 (12:53.2), and Wills took the 100 hurdles (17.6) and the long jump (14-6).

Shadow Ridge finished with 96 points to top Sierra Vista (74) and Agassi Prep (6). 

Trio leads Aggies to victory
At Durango, Kennidi Jones, Zanae Jones and Jocelyn Jordan each won two events as Arbor View cruised to a three-team win.

Arbor View had 118.5 points. Durango was second with 33, followed by The Meadows with 26.5.

Kennidi Jones won the 100 (12.8) and 200 (26.7). Zanae Jones took the 800 (2:31.4) and 3,200 (12:28.2). Jordan won the long jump (14-7) and triple jump (33-10).

Bulldogs race past Gorman

At Centennial, Tyler Rowlette and Lauren Ritter won two events apiece to lift the Bulldogs to a 105-27 victory over Bishop Gorman.

Rowlette took the 200 (25.5) and the 400 (1:00.8), while Ritter finished first in the triple jump (29-5) and the pole vault (7-0).

Vashti Cunningham was the lone double-winner for the Gaels, capturing the high jump (5-6) and long jump (16-3).
