BASEBALL: Koutz anchors Arbor View in rally over Mountain Lions

Adam Koutz tossed a four-hitter with four strikeouts and one walk, and the Arbor View baseball team scored all of its runs in the bottom of the sixth inning Thursday to beat visiting Sierra Vista, 5-0.

P.J. Gonzalez and Evan McMahan hit back-to-back doubles to spark the Aggies’ rally.

Nate Stepna was 2-for-3 with a run and two stolen bases, and Koutz went 1-for-2 with two RBIs for Arbor View.

Spring Valley 10, Palo Verde 0 — At Spring Valley, Dylan Drachler tossed a four-hitter, striking out four as the Grizzlies breezed past the Panthers in five innings.

Drachler also went 3-for-4 with an RBI and three runs, as Spring Valley broke it open with three runs in the fourth and three runs in the fifth. 

Teammate Bryan Bierlein was 3-for-3 with a double, two RBIs, two runs scored and a walk, and Zane Drachler added two hits, including a run-scoring double in the third.  

Bradley Lewis went 1-for-2 with a walk for Palo Verde.

Green Valley 11, Valley 1 — At Green Valley, Derrick Harmon went 2-for-2 with a triple, a double, three runs and three RBIs as the Gators topped the Vikings in five innings.

Greg Reitz, Kyle Haigwood and Josh Weiner combined on a one-hitter for the Gators, with Haigwood tossing four hitless innings to earn the win.

Jarrett Perns was 2-for-2, and Cody Milner was 2-for-3 for Green Valley.

Las Vegas 12, Canyon Springs 2 — At Las Vegas, Eddie Ojeda supplied two hits, two runs and an RBI to lead the Wildcats to victory over the Pioneers in five innings.

Christian Munoz contributed two RBIs, and Tyler Tidwell earned the win in relief for Las Vegas.

Shadow Ridge 12, Durango 2 — At Durango, Travis Caskie tossed a three-hitter with nine strikeouts and went 2-for-3 with three runs and an RBI as the Mustangs topped the Trailblazers in five innings.

Bradly Liuzza was 2-for-2 with a home run, two runs and two RBIs, and Logan Hold went 2-for-3 with an RBI for Shadow Ridge. Ben Fitzhugh was 1-for-2 with two RBIs for the Mustangs.

Brett Neighbors was 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI for Durango.

Boulder City 9, Del Sol 8 — At Del Sol, Corbett Fleming went 4-for-4 with thee runs to help the Eagles edge the Dragons.

Tanner Howell was 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs, and Peyton Koopman drove in three runs for Boulder City.

Brandon Hubbs had a triple and three RBIs for Del Sol.

Faith Lutheran 10, Mojave 0 — At Faith Lutheran, Jordan Dreibelbis fired a shutout to lead the Crusaders to the five-inning win.

Dreibelbis allowed six hits, struck out eight and walked none.

Caleb Summerhays added a home run and two RBIs for Faith Lutheran.

Pahrump Valley 10, Cheyenne 5 — At Pahrump, Dylan Ault doubled three times to help the Trojans beat the Desert Shields.

Izac Reza had two doubles for Cheyenne, which led 2-1 before Pahrump’s six-run third inning.

Bonanza 3, Foothill 2 — At Bonanza, Sean DeSoto went 2-for-2 with a triple and the game-winning sacrifice fly to help the Bengals edge the Falcons.

DeSoto drove in Daniel Romero in the bottom of the fifth inning to give Bonanza the lead. Joaquin Orozco finished 2-for-3 for the Bengals.

Collin Dobrolecki collected two singles for Foothill.
