The junior track athlete cleared 7 feet, 3 inches to win the boys invitational high jump at the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif. The mark tied for the nation’s best of the season, according to athletic.net.

The junior thrower won the girls invitational shot put at the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif., with a toss of 51 feet, 3½ inches. That mark is the best in the nation this season, according to athletic.net.

ARBOR VIEW — Boys track athlete Isaiah Kimenker placed second in the pole vault with a mark of 10 feet at the Sunset Frosh-Soph Championships. Girls track athlete Janae Strode won the 400-meter dash at the Sunset Frosh-Soph Championships at Arbor View with a time of 1 minute, 0.35 seconds.

BONANZA — Baseball player Joaquin Orozco had two hits and threw four solid innings in a 3-2 win over Foothill.

BOULDER CITY — Baseball player Tanner Howell went a combined 4-for-8 with six RBIs during a three-game span. He also tossed a complete game with 11 strikeouts against Chaparral. Girls swimmer Rachael Grothe took first in the 100-yard butterfly and the 100 backstroke in a win over Palo Verde.

CANYON SPRINGS — Boys swimmer Austin Burgueno was first in the 200 individual medley (2:22.76) and 100 butterfly (1:00.54) in a 159-100 victory over Valley. He also swam on the winning 200 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay teams.

CENTENNIAL — Girls swimmer Maddie Cartmill won the 200 freestyle (2:06.0) and 100 freestyle (58.12) in a 232-66 win over Legacy. Boys swimmer Jefferson Lippit won the 100 breaststroke in 1:05.66 in a 175-118 victory over Legacy.

CHAPARRAL — Girls swimmer Summer Luchsinger won the 50 freestyle in 25.97 in a 136-118 win over Sunrise Mountain. Boys track athlete Lester Izquierdo won the 100, 200 and 400 and ran on the winning 800 relay team at the Division I-A, III and IV Frosh-Soph Championships at Moapa Valley.

CIMARRON-MEMORIAL — Baseball player Gerald Robbins went 5-for-5 with three RBIs in two games. Softball shortstop Sarina Creswell went a combined 6-for-11 with six doubles and two RBIs in wins over Bonanza, Desert Oasis and Silverado.

CLARK — Girls swimmer Sharon Fang won the 100 freestyle in 1:12.47 in a 188-54 win over Adelson School. Boys swimmer Owen Stewart won the 200 individual medley in 2:57.62 in a 193-27 victory over Adelson School.

CORONADO — Boys volleyball player Coltin Romney recorded 14 kills in a 3-0 victory over Del Sol. Girls track athlete Shaye’e Swaine was second in the 400 with a time of 57.59 at the Oregon Relays in Eugene, Ore.

DESERT OASIS — Boys volleyball player Saunoa Afoa totaled 45 kills in two matches. Girls track athlete Aria Paxton won the high jump with a mark of 4-11 at the Sunset Frosh-Soph Championships.

DURANGO — Boys track athlete Leontre Austin won the 200 and was second in the 100 at the Sunset Frosh-Soph Championships. Girls track athlete Chyla Bocanegra won the long jump at the Sunset Frosh-Soph Championships.

FAITH LUTHERAN — Baseball pitcher Brenden Meyer struck out 11 in a five-inning no-hitter against Canyon Springs. Softball player Lauryn Lipe went 5-for-10 with a home run, a triple and six RBIs in a three-game stretch.

GREEN VALLEY — Softball player Maggie Manwarren went 3-for-4 with an RBI in a 7-0 victory over Valley.

LIBERTY — Boys golfer Jayrick Cadelina shot 10-over-par 82 to lead the Patriots in a Southeast League match at Black Mountain.

PALO VERDE — Boys track athlete Za’Kee Washington set a school record in the 400 with a time of 49.61 seconds at the Sunset Frosh-Soph Championships. He also anchored the 1,600 relay team, which set a meet record in 3:32.47. Girls track athlete Shakiya Hollis won the shot put (32-6) and discus (90-4) in a dual-meet victory over Spring Valley.

SHADOW RIDGE — Boys golfer Ben Davis won medalist honors with a 1-under-par 71 in a Northwest League match at Spanish Trail.

SIERRA VISTA — Baseball player Tyler Burdett was 3-for-4 with two RBIs in a 6-3 victory over Desert Hills (Utah). Girls track athlete Sydney Land won the 200, was second in the 100 and ran on the winning 800 relay team at the Sunset Frosh-Soph Championships.

SILVERADO — Girls swimmer Soleil Salazar finished first in the 200 individual medley and the 100 freestyle in a win against Rancho.

Coronado girls down Gorman for 5A volleyball region title

The Coronado girls volleyball team swept Bishop Gorman to win the Class 5A Southern Region final Saturday at Palo Verde. Both teams advance to the state tournament.
