SOFTBALL: Rancho pushes past Gators, into three-way tie for second in Northeast

McKinzi Vega doubled twice and knocked in a run Tuesday to help Rancho’s softball team move into a three-way tie for second place in the Northeast League with a 5-2 win at Green Valley.
The Gators still lead the league at 7-2 and visit Las Vegas on Thursday. The Rams, Wildcats and Silverado all are tied at 6-3.
Brandy Marlett tossed a four-hitter and supplied two hits and an RBI for Rancho, which got a two-run single from Aly Lamboo.
Maggie Manwarren tallied two hits, and Megan Barrera had an RBI single to lead Green Valley.
Silverado 9, Las Vegas 0 — At Silverado, Hanna McCall tossed a four-hitter with four strikeouts as the Skyhawks blanked the Wildcats.
Kaitlyn Amaral was 2-for-4 with a run and three RBIs, and McCall went 2-for-3 with a run for Silverado.
Arbor View 6, Durango 5 — At Durango, Karli Lehr went 4-for-4 with a double and an RBI, and winning pitcher Letty Valenzuela was 3-for-4 with an RBI as the Aggies rallied past the Trailblazers.
Arbor View trailed 4-1 before scoring three runs in the top of the fifth to tie the game and two in the top of the seventh to take the lead.
Ashlyn Ames supplied a double and an RBI for the Aggies.
Cat Smith homered, and Brooke Alves was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for Durango.
Spring Valley 8, Shadow Ridge 6 — At Spring Valley, Georgi DeLio was 3-for-4 with a double, triple and an RBI, and Normandie Kniola went 2-for-2 with two RBIs as the Grizzlies battled past the Mustangs.
Ellie Endsley had two hits and two RBIs for Spring Valley.
Briana Manning, Marisa Miano and Tana Feiner had two hits each for Shadow Ridge.
Faith Lutheran 8, Pahrump Valley 4 — At Pahrump, Cheyenne Kidd went 2-for-3 with two doubles and four RBIs, and Lauryn Lipe was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI as the Crusaders wrapped up the Sunset League’s top seed for the Division I-A Southern Region playoffs by downing the Trojans.
Vanessa Valdez went 3-for-4, and Rachel Kerr was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Faith Lutheran.
Palo Verde 15, Sierra Vista 0 — At Palo Verde, Brooke Stover went 2-for-3 with a double and four RBIs as the Panthers wrapped up the Northwest League title by routing the Mountain Lions in five innings.
Rachael Turner went 2-for-2 with an RBI, and Breanna Beatty was 2-for-3 for Palo Verde.
Rachel Williams and Kelsea Sweeney combined on a two-hitter for the Panthers.
Cheyenne 19, Clark 7 — At Clark, Vanessa Sanders went 4-for-4 with a double, and Jahnae Davis was 3-for-4 to lead the Desert Shields by the Chargers in six innings.
Jezebel Tuitele was 3-for-3 with a double, and Shelby Frank went 2-for-3 with a triple for Clark.
Valley 4, Canyon Springs 3 — At Valley, Olga Torres lined a two-run single to key a three-run sixth inning as the Vikings held off the Pioneers.
Kristina Milemore provided two hits, a run, and an RBI for Valley.
Ciera Berkemeyer and Aliciyia Sanders each tallied two hits and a run to lead Canyon Springs.
Mojave 16, Western 6 — At Western, Danette Daguiar was 5-for-5 with a home run and a double, and Ashley Persico went 5-for-5 to lead the Rattlers by the Warriors in six innings.
Katheline Rivas supplied two hits for Mojave.
Cierra White went 4-for-4, and Yatzi Carranza was 3-for-3 to lead Western.
Legacy 11, Sunrise Mountain 1 — At Legacy, Alysia Santos tossed a five-hitter, and went 3-for-4 with two doubles and four RBIs to power the Longhorns to the six-inning win.
Alyssa Sotelo was 3-for-4 with a double and a run, and Eliza Baldridge supplied two hits and an RBI for Legacy.
Sydni Beuchat went 2-for-3 with an RBI for Sunrise Mountain.
