ROUNDUP: Mustangs claim Snow Canyon Classic title, improve to 12-0

Brady Hoskins went 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBIs and two runs Saturday night to lead Shadow Ridge’s baseball team to a 10-3 win over Salem Hills (Utah) in the championship game of the Snow Canyon Classic in St. George, Utah.

Jordan Hand was 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for the Mustangs, who used a four-run third inning to take the lead for good and improved to 12-0 overall.

Alec Pittsenbarger and Travis Caskie each went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, and Ben Fitzhugh was 2-for-4 with a double for the Mustangs. Danny Turnbull was 2-for-4 with an RBI for Shadow Ridge.

Shadow Ridge 12, Park City (Utah) 7 — At St. George, Utah, Logan Hold went 4-for-4 with two doubles and four RBIs as the Mustangs topped Park City in the Snow Canyon Classic.

Pittsenbarger was 2-for-3 with a home run, three runs and three RBIs, and Caskie went 1-for-3 with a home run, two runs and two RBIs for Shadow Ridge.

Las Vegas 10, Sky View (Utah) 0 — At St. George, Utah, Jeremiah Garcia tossed a six-inning one-hitter and struck out eight to help the Wildcats top Sky View in the Snow Canyon Classic.

Jose Sanchez was 4-for-4 with a double, three runs and an RBI, and Eddie Ojeda went 3-for-4 with a run for Las Vegas.

Nolan Cassell was 2-for-4 with a double, two runs and two RBIs, and Dustin Cash went 2-for-2 with two runs and an RBI for the Wildcats.

Las Vegas 10, Highland (Utah) 1 — At St. George, Utah, Cassell went 3-for-4 with a triple, a double and two RBIs, and the Wildcats scored eight runs in the final two innings to roll past Highland in the Snow Canyon Classic.

Tyler Tidwell was 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and an RBI, and Cash went 2-for-5 with a run and three RBIs for Las Vegas.

Bishop Gorman 12, Mullen (Colo.) 0 — At Phoenix, Jerrel Latham went 3-for-4 with five RBIs, including a game-ending grand slam, as the Gaels routed Mullen in five innings in the Coach Bob Invitational.

Austin Cram tossed a two-hitter, walking one and striking out seven, for Gorman.

Willie Jumper was 3-for-3 with four runs, and Matt Hudgins went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI for the Gaels.

North Canyon (Ariz.) 15, Bishop Gorman 14 — At Phoenix, the Rattlers scored five runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to rally past the Gaels in the Coach Bob Invitational.

Kenny Meimerstorf was 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and four RBIs for Gorman. Latham was 3-for-4 with a solo home run, and Michael Blasko went 3-for-5 with a solo home run for the Gaels, who also got a home run from Cole Krzmarzick.

Basic 7, Faith Lutheran 2 — At Basic, Mikey York went 2-for-3 with a run and two RBIs to help the Wolves down the Crusaders.

Josh McLean went 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI, and Skyler Mahoney was 2-for-4 with two runs for Basic.

Dakota Greenwalt was 2-for-3 with a double an a run, and Justin Daraban went 1-for-2 with a double, a run and an RBI for Faith Lutheran.

Liberty 17, Durango 0 — At Durango, Josh McCollum was 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs, and the Patriots never looked back after scoring six first-inning runs on their way to a five-inning rout of the Trailblazers.

Preston Pavlica was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Liberty.

Giovanni Battistoni fired a two-hitter for the Patriots.
