ROUNDUP: Cunningham, Comella help Gorman girls edge Legacy

Vashti Cunningham and Alli Comella each won twice Tuesday to help Bishop Gorman’s girls track team edge visiting Legacy, 68-67.

Cunningham cleared 5 feet, 8 inches in the high jump, and posted a mark of 17-3 in the long jump. Comella won the 100-meter hurdles (18.4 seconds) and 300 hurdles (56.9).

Legacy’s Micayla Coquia won the 100 (12.4), 200 (25.8) shot put (29-8½) and discus (106-4).

Diamondbacks beat Bengals
At Desert Oasis, Ashlyn Lee and Courtney Scheller each won one event and finished second in another to lead the Diamondbacks to an 86-60 win over Bonanza.

Lee won the 1,600 (5:39.5) and was second in the 800, and Scheller won the discus (86-5) and was second in the shot put.

Bonanza’s Trane’e Jenkins won the 100 (12.4) and triple jump (33-6), and Sianna Nelson won the 300 hurdles (49.6) and long jump (14-11) for the Bengals.

Mountain Lions beat Durango
At Sierra Vista, Amirah Rahman and Zahaira Romero each won twice as the Mountain Lions beat Durango, 83-49.

Rahman was first in the 200 (26.9) and 400 (1:05.7), and Romero won the shot put (29-10¾) and discus (84-9).

Virginia Salazar-Sandoval won the 800 (2:45.9) and 1,600 (6:05.1).

Aggies top Spring Valley
At Arbor View, Spring Valley won three relays, but the Aggies won every other event to post a 124-22 win

Kennidi Jones (100 and 200), Zanae Jones (400 and 800), Jocelyn Jordan (long jump and triple jump) and DaQuanda Clay (shot put and discus) each won twice for Arbor View.

Mustangs edge Panthers in three-team meet
At Shadow Ridge, the Mustangs won three relays and edged Palo Verde for a win in a three-team meet.

Shadow Ridge finished with 79½ points to beat Palo Verde (76) and The Meadows (29½).

Grace Moore won the 100 hurdles (16.91), 300 hurdles (49.7) and high jump (4-10) for the Panthers.

Bonds, Johonnot lead Bulldogs
At Centennial, Tiana Bonds and Madison Johonnot each won two events as the Bulldogs defeated Cimarron-Memorial and Word of Life.

Bonds won the 100 hurdles (15.2) and 200 (25.4). Johonnot took the high jump (5-6) and long jump (14-7).

Centennial finished with 113 points. Cimarron was second with 39, and Word of Life had 1.
