Las Vegas boys, Palo Verde girls win Valley Relays

Las Vegas High’s boys track team took the top spot in six events on Saturday to place first at the Valley Relays.

The Wildcats finished with 95 points to outlast Liberty (86).

Las Vegas won the 400-meter realy in 43.5 seconds. The Wildcats also claimed the the 800 (1:32.5) and the 1,600 (3:29.4), the shot put relay (115 feet, 6¾ inches) and the high jump relay (17-4).

The Patriots grabbed first in the sprint medley relay (3:35.5), the distance medley (10:59.7), the discus relay (383-3) and the pole vault relay (34-0).

Palo Verde’s girls track team won the 3200 relay (10:28.1), the distance medley (13:50.2) and the high jump relay (13-10) to finish first with 100 points to win the team title.

The Panthers also placed first in the pole vault relay (23-6) and the throwers 400 relay (59.7).

Valley took second with 83 points, winning the 400 relay (51.7), the shuttle high hurdles relay (1:10.1) and the long jump relay (38-8).
