ROUNDUP: Amon paces Clark boys to victory in three-team meet

Mucuranyana Amon won three events on Thursday to power Clark’s boys track team to victory in a three-team home meet.

Amon won the 800-meter run in 2 minutes, 14 seconds. He also took the 1,600 (4:55.0) and 3,200 (10:35.6).

The Chargers finished with 98 points to beat Cheyenne (63) and Indian Springs (9).

Crusaders beat Warriors
At Western, Jordan Morino and Ian Tornello each won one event and placed third in another to lead Faith Lutheran to a 78-29 win over the Warriors.

Morino was first in the long jump (15 feet, 11 inches) and third in the 200. Tornello won the 3,200 (12:56) and was third in the 1,600 (5:45.3).

Harkins leads Eagles to win
At Overton, Chandler Harkins swept the distance events to lead Boulder City to victory in a four-team meet.

Harkins won the 800 (2:11.94), 1,600 (4:58.52) and 3,200 (10:53.18) for the Eagles, who had 94 points.

Moapa Valley was second with 56, followed by Lincoln County (21) and Pahranagat Valley (15).

Lincoln County’s George Macantonio won the 100 (11.63) and 200 (23.63).

Pahranagat Valley’s Austin Poulsen won the long jump (19-7) and triple jump (41-7).

Hernandez powers Chaparral to win
At Desert Pines, William Hernandez and James Bryant each won two events to push the Chaparral boys track team past Desert Pines, 97-49.

Hernandez was first in the shot put (50-0) and discus (148-8). Bryant took first in the high jump (6-2) and the long jump (19-8) for the Cowboys.

Abdirahman Mohamad led the Jaguars, claiming first in the 800 (2:06.6) and 1600 (4:55.9).
