Pahrump Valley 2013 Girls Track Capsule

PAHRUMP VALLEY

Head coach: Ed Kirkwood, first season

Returning letter winners: 25

Top athletes: Sydney Sladek (Jr.), Kaitlin Klem (Sr.), Amanda Head (Sr.), Mikayla Davis (Jr.), Sarah Dennis (Sr.), Naomi Argabright (Sr.)

Outlook: Klem was the team's top sprinter last year and could also contribute in the long jump and triple jump.

The Trojans also return the team's top 100 hurdler in Argabright and top 800 runner in Sladek. Head (100, throws), Davis (high jump, triple jump, 200) and Dennis (800, 100 hurdles) should also contribute.

"Graduation wasn't kind to us as we lost about 30 points a meet with four key girls, but we are pretty solid in every event and will contend for the title," Kirkwood said. "Younger ones are ready to step up."
