ROUNDUP: Foothill boys rout Del Sol to secure Southeast crown

Elijah Smith had 15 points Monday as Foothill’s boys basketball team clinched the outright Southeast League title with a 78-44 win at Del Sol.

Austin Starr added 12 points, and Jalen Shepard scored 11 for the Falcons, who drained 11 3-pointers.

Noah Spearman led Del Sol with 11 points.

GIRLS

Noni Barree had 15 points, and Cheyenne’s girls overcame a 31-28 deficit heading into the fourth quarter and nipped host Western, 42-40.

Lajuana Brown added 11 points for the Desert Shields.

Destiny Gonzalez had 12 points, 14 rebounds, seven steals and seven blocks for the Warriors, who also got 12 points from Capricia Pierce.

Foothill 59, Del Sol 20 — At Del Sol, Kailani Killebrew had 15 points, and the Falcons bolted to leads of 20-2 after one quarter and 34-7 at the half on their way to a win over the Dragons.

Taylor Turney added 13 points, and Anaya Rodisha and Dani Morris each scored 10 for Foothill.

Melissa DeSantiago led Del Sol with 10 points.
