ROUNDUP: Willis, Cougars outlast Fighting Frongs in OT

Jordan Willis had 29 points, 11 rebounds and four steals and hit the go-ahead free throw with 7.1 seconds left in overtime to give Coronado’s boys basketball team a 69-67 home victory over Ribet Academy (Calif.) on Monday.

Justice Augmon finished with 23 points and six rebounds for the Cougars. Augmon made both of his free throws with 18 seconds left in the fourth quarter to tie the game.

Brandon Robinson had 20 points for the Fighting Frogs

Las Vegas 73, Palo Verde 60 —
At Palo Verde, Aziz Leeks had 21 points, and the Wildcats outscored the Panthers 14-1 in overtime to secure the win.

Las Vegas’ Leo Goodman tipped in a rebound with 13 seconds left in the fourth quarter to tie the game at 59 and force the extra period.

Juwan Major finished with 15 points for Las Vegas, and Goodman scored 12.

Eris Winder had 19 points for Palo Verde, and teammate Darryl Gaynor chipped in with 15 points.

Desert Pines 68, Green Valley 61 — At Desert Pines, Coby Myles scored 14 of his 22 points in the third quarter to help the Jaguars top the Gators.

Desert Pines led 33-28 at the half, but outscored Green Valley 26-13 in the third quarter to pull away.

Julian Jacobs had 16 points, 10 rebounds and six assists, and teammate Donavin Wright scored 15 for the Jaguars.

Tyler Roberts scored 23 points to lead the Gators, who got 15 points from Clyde Austin.

Bishop Gorman 78, Cimarron-Memorial 61 — At Gorman, Stephen Zimmerman had 14 points, 10 rebounds and five blocked shots to lead the Gaels over the Spartans.

Noah Robotham finished with 19 points and seven assists for Gorman, which got 12 points from Trey Kennedy and 11 points from Chase Noma’aea.

J.C. Broussard had 11 points for the Spartans, and teammates Joe McKellar and Anfernee Jamerson each scored 10.

Arbor View 75, Spring Valley 44 —
At Arbor View, the Aggies blew the game open in the third quarter, outscoring the Grizzlies 32-2 en route to a lopsided victory.

Justin Burks scored 24 points, and Terrell Butler had 14 points, nine rebounds and six assists to lead Arbor View, which led 39-27 at the half. Navonte Hill and Brandon Hill each scored 12 points for the Aggies.

Spring Valley’s Travis Walton scored 14 points, and Jacquez Sparrow added 10 points for the Grizzlies.

Canyon Springs 85, Shadow Ridge 58 —
At Canyon Springs, Shaquile Carr scored 19 points, and the Pioneers outscored the Mustangs 31-11 in the third quarter on their way to the easy victory.

Tim Straghter had 13 points, and Chris Swanson added 12 points for Canyon Springs.

Shadow Ridge’s Deundrea Williams scored 14 points, and Zhyer  Ducksworth had 11 points for the Mustangs.

Lake Mead 87, Calvary Chapel 80 — At Calvary Chapel, Justin Yamzon had 31 points and the Eagles made 25 of 28 free throws to down the Lions in overtime.

Caleb Pitman had 24 points and 17 rebounds, and teammate Dylan Graham scored 18 for Lake Mead.

Calvary Chapel’s Drew Hammond led all scorers with 34 points, and teammate Zac Yates added 19 points.

Needles 54, Palo Verde Valley (Calif.) 36 —
At Blythe, Calif., Phillip Chavez had 16 points to lead the Mustangs over the Yellowjackets.

Wyatt Upshaw added 12 points, and Mason Cisneros scored 11 for Needles, which outscored Palo Verde Valley 29-10 in the second half.
