ROUNDUP: Gonzalez’s double-double helps Western girls down Miners

Destiny Gonzalez had 23 points and 23 rebounds Thursday to lead Western’s girls basketball team to a 55-49 home win over Sunrise Mountain.

Guadalupe Herrera added 13 points, and Capricia Pierce had 10 points, for Western.

Jenae Yurek-Carhee scored 12 points to lead Sunrise Mountain, which got 11 points apiece from Brittany Veal and Azia McBrown.

Palo Verde 48, Desert Pines 42 —
At Palo Verde, Ioana Ganeva had 13 points, and Ivana Ganeva scored 12 points to lead the Panthers to their first victory of the season.

Desert Pines’ Cydney Miles led all scorers with 16 points, and Raven Thomas added 13 points for the Jaguars.

Boulder City 64, Foothill 50 —
At Foothill, Alyssa Ybarra had 23 points, and Whitney Barlow added 21 points to guide the Eagles past the Falcons.

Katlyn Daly had 10 points for Boulder City.

Anaya Rodisha had 18 points, and teammate Taylor Turney scored 14 points for Foothill.

Rancho 60, Tech 16 —
At Rancho, Tatianna Lee scored 16 points to help the Rams rout the Roadrunners

Kanosha Grey added 15 points for Rancho, which led 34-13 at the half and outscored Tech 22-0 in the third quarter.

Cimarron-Memorial 53, Sierra Vista 38 — At Cimarron, Emily Cox scored 22 points to help the Spartans down the Mountain Lions.

Ikia Daniels added 10 points for Cimarron, which got eight points apiece from Taya Harper and Kiana Carter.

Kelsey Jimenez scored 13 points, and Melia Tadytin tallied 12 points to lead Sierra Vista.

Reno 64, Faith Lutheran 33 — At Reno, Mallory McGwire had 26 points to lead the Huskies by the Crusaders in the High Sierra Invitational.

Brooke Bakes led Faith Lutheran with nine points.

Crean Lutheran (Calif.) 45, Mountain View 22 —
At Anaheim, Calif., Vanessa Couzens had 16 points to lead Crean Lutheran past Mountain View in the Husky Invitational.

Alyssa Rikimaru had 13 points for Crean Lutheran.

Kiley Murphy scored eight points, and Alley Cintron had six points for Mountain View.

The Meadows 46, Word of Life 12  — At The Meadows, Melaney Mayes had 10 points as the Mustangs routed the Eagles.

Missy Siegel added nine points, and Anjali Daulat scored eight points for The Meadows.

White Pine 47, Pahranagat Valley 42 — At Alamo, Bailey Moore had 20 points to lead the Bobcats by the Panthers.

Debra Kingston added 10 points for White Pine.

Traci Strong had 21 points, and Bailee Hosier scored 13 points for Pahranagat Valley.

Legacy and Canyon Springs couldn’t keep up in the Class 4A girls basketball state semifinals. The Southern Region representatives in 3A also were eliminated.
