ROUNDUP: Augmon’s fourth-quarter push propels Coronado boys past Vikings

Justice Augmon had 19 of his game-high 39 points in the fourth quarter to help Coronado’s boys basketball team rally for an 81-77 home victory over Valley.

Augmon hit a deep 3-pointer with about a minute remaining to put the Cougars up for good.

Jordan Willis added 19 points and eight rebounds for Coronado, which trailed 62-50 entering the fourth quarter.

Charlie Teixeira scored 13 points, and Shawn Hunt grabbed 12 rebounds for the Cougars.

Ryan Johnson led Valley with 19 points. Cameron Burton scored 17 points, and Spencer Mathis had 15 points for the Vikings.

Liberty 60, Desert Oasis 42 — At Desert Oasis, Michael Robinson scored 18 points to lead the Patriots over the Diamondbacks.

Jeremy Lontayao added 16 points, and Elijah Graves had 14 points for Liberty.

Kodi Leslie led Desert Oasis with 13 points.

Chaparral 62, Pahrump Valley 39 —
At Chaparral, Jared Celestine was 5-for-10 on 3-pointers and scored 19 points to lead the Cowboys over the Trojans.

Robert Martinez added 14 points and 10 rebounds, including six offensive boards for Chaparral, which led 24-6 after one quarter.

Paul Chitongo added 11 points, and Tyree McNeal scored 10 for the Cowboys.

Jesse Crain and Dalton Beighley each scored nine points for Pahrump.

Cedar (Utah) 60, Virgin Valley 39 —
At Mesquite, Dustin Staggs scored 15 points as the Redmen rolled past the Bulldogs.

Mike Hourigan had 14 points for Cedar, which sprinted to a 33-15 halftime lead.

Garrett Leavitt scored 13 points to lead Virgin Valley, and teammate Tyson Teerlink had 11 points.

Spring Mountain 66, Word of Life 24 — At Saville Middle School, Develle Williams scored 20 points, and Spring Mountain bolted to a 35-11 halftime lead on its way to a win over Word of Life.

Kenyon McNair added 14 points, and Steven Burks scored 13 points for Spring Mountain.

GIRLS

Chaparral 40, Pahrump Valley 13 — At Chaparral, Tichina Savoy had 11 points and six steals, and the Cowboys held the Trojans to five points through the first three quarters on their way to a win.

Marcia Hawkins scored 10 points, and Unique Wilson had six points, seven rebounds, two steals and two blocks for Chaparral, which led 17-3 at the half and 32-5 after three quarters.

Liberty 57, Desert Oasis 39 —
At Desert Oasis, Paris Strawther had 17 points and 13 rebounds as the Patriots topped the Diamondbacks.

Sydney Clark scored 13 points, and Kealy Brown added 10 points for Liberty, which sped to a 20-4 lead after one quarter.

Sammi Tso led Desert Oasis with 17 points and teammate Tatiana Kearn supplied 11 points.
