Mountain View girls golfer Rachel Horita is in third place after shooting an opening-round 97 Monday in the Division III state tournament at Eagle Valley Golf Course in Carson City.
Horita is six shots behind leader Devi Meyer of Incline, who shot 19-over-par 91. Wells' Selina Johnny is second at 93.
Incline and Wells are tied for the team lead at 427.
Tuesday's final round tees off a 10:30 a.m.
