Johnson’s big first half powers Basic to rout of Foothill

Antraye Johnson rushed for three touchdowns in the first half Thursday night to lead Basic’s football team to a 40-11 win at Foothill.
Johnson scored on a 78-yard run in the first quarter and on runs of 27 and 14 yards in the second quarter to help the Wolves (5-1, 2-0 Southeast) erase an early 11-8 deficit.
Jon Scoffield added a 1-yard touchdown run for Basic, and teammate Devonte Boyd concluded the scoring by catching Jaylen Rose’s 39-yard touchdown pass with 1:57 remaining in the first half.
Johnson, who finished with 260 yards on 13 carries, ran for four 2-point conversions and completed a pass for another.
Basic racked up 336 yards rushing and outgained the Falcons 480-254, limiting Foothill to 33 yards rushing. Rose completed 9 of 24 passes for 144 yards.
Jordan Primo hauled in a 16-yard pass from Drew Doxtator in the first quarter to account for the lone touchdown for Foothill (2-4, 1-0).
Cory Fisher started the scoring for the Falcons by kicking a 37-yard field goal.
