ROUNDUP: Cayne powers Bishop Gorman girls to Southwest League win

Melissa Cayne carded a 4-over-par 75 at Bear’s Best on Wednesday to earn medalist honors and help Bishop Gorman’s girls golf team to victory in a Southwest League match.

Gorman, which also got a 79 from Katie DeJesus, had a team score of 346, one stroke better than Centennial. Desert Oasis was the only other squad to post a score and shot 389.

Cimarron-Memorial’s Aspen Bryant shot 78, and teammate Arianna Bryant added an 81. Allison Weiderman shot 81 for the Diamondbacks.

Crusaders cruise to Sunset League win
At Palm Valley, Annie Freman shot 3-under 69 to help Faith Lutheran win a Sunset League match.

The Crusaders had the top five golfers and posted a team score of 303, 99 strokes ahead of second-place Clark.
Pahrump Valley was third at 452.

Faith Lutheran’s Julia Becker was second with a 74, and teammate Brianna Becker shot 77.
