ROUNDUP: Diamondback boys snap 25-match winless streak

Eric Biorato, Herson Ramirez, Tristan Schoonmaker and Habtu Awdew each scored a goal Friday as Desert Oasis’ boys soccer team broke a 25-match winless streak with a 4-3 win over visiting Faith Lutheran.

The Diamondbacks hadn’t won since a 1-0 victory over Clark on Oct. 14, 2010 — going 0-18-7 in that span — but grabbed a 4-2 halftime lead and held on for the victory.

D’Khari Hicks had two goals, and Harut Khachoyan scored once for the Crusaders.

Arbor View 4, Coronado 4 — At Coronado, Toby Cartledge’s third goal of the match — off a penalty kick in the final two minutes — allowed the Aggies to tie the Cougars.

Garrett Rader also scored for Arbor View.

Chase Rhinehart had two goals for the Cougars, who also got tallies from Justin Lyons and Chance Phifer.

Legacy 4, Green Valley 2 — At Green Valley, Antonio Velazquez and Saul Aguirre each had two goals to lead the Longhorns by the Gators.

James Coronel and Bryan Baugh scored for Green Valley.

Liberty 2, Durango 0 — At Liberty, Chris Figueroa and Danny Musovski scored to lead the Patriots past the Trailblazers.

Chris Bradford posted an eight-save shutout for Liberty, which improved to 4-0 and matched its win total from last season.

Palo Verde 2, Canyon Springs 0 — At Canyon Springs, Josh Lockwood tallied a second-half goal to help the Panthers top the Pioneers.

Nishany Yadav earned the shutout for Palo Verde, which took a 1-0 halftime lead on an own goal.

GIRLS

Pahrump Valley 17, Del Sol 0 — At Del Sol, Sidney Sladek matched the state record for goals in a match with 10 as the Trojans routed the Dragons.

Sladek equaled the mark set by Moapa Valley’s Ashley Nevey on Sept. 15, 2009.

Kristen Young added three goals for Pahrump, which also got markers from Ashlyn Dilasi, Kaitlin Klem and Haley Sladek.

Arbor View 4, Coronado 1 — At Arbor View, Alexis Pryor scored three goals as the Aggies downed the Cougars.

Sasha Escamilla also scored for Arbor View, which got two assists from Kate Sylvester.

Stephanie Frank scored for Coronado.

Desert Oasis 2, Shadow Ridge 2 — At Shadow Ridge, Ashlynn Lee and Lynsey Hutchins each scored once as the Diamondbacks earned a tie with the Mustangs.

Gabby Gonzalez and Taylor Lopez scored for Shadow Ridge.

Liberty 9, Durango 0 — At Durango, April Ficarotta, Mary Johnson and Valentina Czrk all had two goals and an assist as the Patriots blitzed the Trailblazers.

Sierra Sorensen and Bridgette Raucci each had a goal and an assist, and Sierra Gilliland also scored for Liberty.

Rebecca Rodriguez and Lauren Surrick combined on the shutout.

Faith Lutheran 2, Boulder Ciity 0 — At Boulder City, Dani Tharaldson and Morgan Bracey each scored a goal to lift the Crusaders past the Eagles.

Kelly Zufall was in goal for the shutout.

The undefeated Coronado boys soccer team made sure it was ready for Saturday’s Class 5A Southern League final after losing to Palo Verde last season.
