ROUNDUP: Centennial girls sprint past Spartans

Centennial’s top three runners came across the line within one second of each other to lead the Bulldogs to a 23-32 win over host Cimarron-Memorial on Thursday.

Sydney Badger won the 2.5-mile race in 17 minutes, 11 seconds. Shelby Gibbons and Katie Gorczyca both came across the line in 17:12 for Centennial.

Wolves down Liberty
At Basic, Jessica Raymond won a 3.1-mile race in 21:09.9 to help the Wolves to a 17-45 win over Liberty.

Basic’s Alexandra Acosta was second in 21:52.8, and teammate Megan McCarthy was third in 22:32.2

Pahrump runs past Chargers
At Clark, Alex Terry won a 3.1-mile race in 24:15, and Pahrump Valley took four of the top five spots on its way to an 18-47 win over the Chargers.

Pahrump’s Jackie Sanchez was second in 24:30, five seconds ahead of Clark’s Marisa Black.

Rancho edges Las Vegas
At Rancho, the Rams placed three in the top four on the way to a 26-31 victory over Las Vegas.

Las Vegas’ Sharon Ortega-Dominguez won the 3.1-mile race in 21:46. Rancho took the next three spots, led by Emy Rodriguez (22:13).

Bengals top Diamondbacks, Mustangs
At The Meadows, Emily Adams finished second in a 2.7-mile race in 18:31 to lead Bonanza to victory with 32 pionts.

Desert Oasis’ Brooke Locey won the race in 17:20 to help the Diamondbacks place second with 39 points.

Bailey Gosse of The Meadows was third in 18:41, and the Mustangs finished with 62 points.

Moore, Desert Shields edge Warriors
At Western, Jazmine Moore won a 3.1-mile race in 24:37 to lead Cheyenne to a 26-29 win over the Warriors.

Cheyenne’s Jasmine Buchanan was second in 24:53, and Western’s Patricia Ramirez was third in 25:42.

Gorman’s McCullough wins rae
At Legacy, Bishop Gorman’s Alyssa McCullough won a 3.1-mile race in 22:40 as the Gaels topped the Longhorns, who didn’t field a complete team.

Gorman’s Meaghan Boland (23:24) was second, and Rebecca Dunne (24:00) finished third for the Gaels.
