ROUNDUP: Schultz paces Liberty boys to win over Wolves

Colin Schultz won a 3.1-mile race at Basic in 17 minutes, 6.1 seconds Thursday to help Liberty’s boys cross country team to a 23-34 win over the Wolves.

Basic’s Noah Pinto was second in 17:20.9, followed by the Patriots’ Bryce Peterson in 18:43.8.

Clark sweeps top five spots against Pahrump
At Clark, Mucuranyana Amon won a 3.1-mile race in 16:57 as the Chargers posted a 15-50 win over Pahrump Valley.

Clark took the top five places with Flimon Fre placing second in 17:42 and teammate Charles Bennion taking third in 18:25.

Bulldogs use depth to top Spartans
At Cimarron-Memorial, the Spartans took two of the top three spots, but Centennial used its depth to pull out a 24-49 victory.

Cimarron’s Seth Wright won the 2.5-mile race in 13:45, followed by Centennial’s Spencer Day (13:50) and Cimarron’s Nicolas Gonzalez (14:08).

Martinez leads Diamondbacks to win in tri-meet
At The Meadows, Frankie Martinez won a 2.7-mile race in 14:43 to lead Desert Oasis to victory in a three-team meet.

The Diamondbacks finished with 25 points. Bonanza was second with 30, and The Meadows didn’t field a full team.

Bonanza’s Robert Rudd (15:08) and Logan Epperson (16:15) finished second and third, respectively.

Desert Shields take top four spots, win meet
At Western, Cheyenne’s Tevin Brown won a 3.1-mile race in 19:30, and the Desert Shields took the top four spots to beat the Warriors, 19-36.

Daniel Ludwig was second in 19:34 followed by Marcus Vellinga (20:34) and Xavone Charles (20:36).

Gaels roll past Longhorns
At Legacy, Eric Klein won a 3.1-mile race in 16:33 to lead Bishop Gorman to a 15-50 win over the Longhorns.

Gorman’s Austin Courtney (18:19) was second, and teammate Christopher Martinez (18:23) was third.
