ROUNDUP: Ramirez guides Western girls to victory against Clark

Patti Ramirez won a 3.1-mile race in 24 minutes, 32 seconds to help Western to a 21-34 victory over host Clark in girls cross country on Thursday.

Clark’s Marisa Black was second in 24:59, followed by Western’s Denise Bautista in 25:33.

Raymond, Basic beat Eldorado
At Eldorado, Jessica Raymond won a 3.1-mile race in 22:07, leading Basic to an 18-40 win over the Sundevils.

Basic’s Megan McCarthy was second in 22:35, and Eldorado’s Gaby Vazquez finished third in 23:16.

Bengals top Longhorns
At Bonanza, the Bengals took the top 11 spots, and Legacy didn’t field a complete team.

Bonanza’s Emily Adams won the 2.5-mile race in 17:05, and teammate Sianna Nelson was second in 18:27.

Rams roll past Pioneers
At Rancho, Emy Rodriguez won the 3.1-mile race in 21:42.82 to help the Rams top Canyon Springs, which didn’t field a complete team.

Canyon Springs’ Minniya Wilson was second in 21:46.36.

Panthers win home meet
At Palo Verde, the Panthers took the top 19 spots and were the only complete team in a victory over Sierra Vista and Word of Life.

Marissa Suan won the 2.7-mile race in 18:04, followed by teammates Sarah Leiserowitz (18:30) and Bailey Dunlap (18:37).

Trailblazers take top four spots, beat Spring Valley
At Spring Valley, Virginia Salazar ran away from the field, winning a 3.1-mile race in 19:52 and helping Durango to a 16-45 victory over the Grizzlies.

Durango’s Amanda Maloney was second in 22:50, followed by teammates Leticia Salazar in 23:08 and Andrea Close in 23:09.
