Gators rush for 404 yards, down Dragons

Green Valley's Christian Lopez ran for 148 yards and four scores, and Gino Jonassaint ran for 214 yards and three touchdowns as the Gators (1-1) downed visiting Del Sol (0-2) 59-33 on Friday.

Lopez also threw for 115 yards and a touchdown, but the story of the night was the back-and-forth rushing attacks for both teams.

Green Valley had 404 yards rushing while Del Sol’s ground game, led by Cameron Lamont’s 207 yards and two touchdowns, garnered 310 yards.

In addition to the potent offense, Green Valley’s special teams was nearly perfect, as the Gators received several large kickoff returns from Hernandez Gio and eight successful PAT kicks and a field goal from kicker Conor Perkins.

The Gators scored on all but one of their possessions, a missed field goal at the end of the game.

Mitchell Barry picked off Del Sol quarterback Dylan Greer twice.
