Prosise scores twice, leads Cougars past Mustangs

Laughlin Averie Prosise rushed for 120 yards and broke open a scoreless game with fourth-quarter touchdown runs of 10 and 61, carrying the Cougars (1-0, 1-0 Division III Southern) to a 16-6 road win over The Meadows (0-2, 0-1) on Friday.

After Prosise’s 10-yard TD and 2-point conversion run gave the Cougars the lead, The Meadows answered with Jacob Gleason hitting Ian Holbrook for a 16-yard scoring strike.

Only 53 seconds later, Prosise ran untouched 61 yards up the middle of the field for another touchdown.

Gleason was 12 of 18 for 124 yards and a touchdown. Holbrook made six receptions for 64 yards.
Laughlin rushed for 264 yards, including Christian Avery’s 75 on seven carries.
