ROUNDUP: Martinez finishes first to lead Desert Oasis boys past Cimarron

Frankie Martinez won a 2.4-mile race in 13 minutes, 57 seconds Tuesday to help Desert Oasis’ boys cross country team to a 25-30 home victory over Cimarron-Memorial.

Cimarron’s Seth Wright took second in 14:23, and teammate Nicolas Gonzalez was third in 14:48.

Ekanger, Cougars roll past Wolves
At Basic, Alan Ekanger won a 2.5-mile race in 13:52.9 to help Coronado roll to a 16-46 victory over the Wolves.

Coronado’s Mark Hickey was second in 14:24.7, and teammate Sterling Saltz took third in 14:59.3.

Durango downs Aggies
At Desert Breeze Park, Durango took three of the top four spots on its way to a 22-38 win over Arbor View.

Arbor View’s Cole Jones won the 2.5-mile race in 13:58.

Sami Mesgun led Durango, placing second in 14:00.

Gators blitz Pioneers
At Canyon Springs, Jesse Rodgers led a Green Valley parade to the finish line, winning a 2.9-mile race in 16:35 as the Gators took the top five spots on their way to a 15-50 win over the Pioneers.

Marshall, Falcons win easily
At Foothill, Brian Marshall won a 2.5-mile race in 14:12.4 to help the Falcons top Eldorado, which had only four runners finish the race.

Foothill’s Arie Dennis took second in 15:02.9, and teammate Max Hoeft was third in 15:26.8.

Gaels top Bengals
At Bishop Gorman, the Gaels had two of the top three finishers on their way to a 23-38 victory over Bonanza.

Bonanza’s Robert Rudd won in 18:12, followed by Gorman’s Eric Klein (18:19) and Jacob Holland (19:08).

Panthers use depth to top Grizzlies
At Palo Verde, the Panthers had seven of the top eight finishers on their way to a 20-43 victory over Spring Valley.

Spring Valley’s Denzel DeCaires won the 2.7-mile race in 16:07.

Palo Verde’s Jeremiah Delph was second in 16:14, edging teammate Pedro Rios (16:15).
