ROUNDUP: Spartans edge Desert Oasis girls

Cimarron-Memorial’s girls cross country team took three of the top four spots on Tuesday as the Spartans edged host Desert Oasis, 27-28.

Desert Oasis’ Brooke Locey won the 2.4-mile race in 16 minutes, 43 seconds.

Cimarron’s Julianna Brooks was second in 17:18, and teammate Tiana Callejo took third in 18:43.

Bailey, Falcons top Eldorado
At Foothill, Ryanne Bailey won a 2.5-mile race in 16:51.2, and and the Falcons  took the top seven spots en route to a 15-50 victory over Eldorado.

Foothill’s Alyse Vanek was second in 17:55.1, and teammate Raegan Janda took third in 18:34.6.

Dort, Cougars dominate
At Basic, Sara Dort won a 2.5-mile race in 15:56.9 to lead Coronado to a 15-44 victory over the Wolves.

Coronado’s Logan Lucas took second in 16:24.8, and teammate Kristen Morrill was third in 16:33.2.

Aggies pull away from Trailblazers
At Desert Breeze Park, Zanae Jones won a 2.5-mile race in 17:01 and led Arbor View to a 19-45 win over Durango.

Arbor View had four of the top five finishers.

Gators down Pioneers
At Canyon Springs, Mindy Eskin won a 2.9-mile race in 20:52 as Green Valley rolled to an 18-47 win over the Pioneers.

Sage Andress was second in 20:54 for the Gators, who took four of the top five spots.

Bishop Gorman edges Bonanza
At Bishop Gorman, the Gaels had three of the top five finishers on their way to a 28-29 victory over Bonanza.

Bonanza’s Emily Adams won in 23:17, followed by Gorman’s Alyssa McCullough (24:31). Bonanza’s Sianna Nelson (25:49) took third.

Palo Verde posts perfect score
At Palo Verde, Samantha Reintjes won a 2.7-mile race in 19:53 to lead the Panthers to a 15-50 rout of Spring Valley.

Palo Verde’s Ashley Koch was second in 20:28, and teammate Bailey Dunlap took third in 20:38.
