ROUNDUP: Estocado’s fifth-inning double allows Gaels to nip Grizzlies

Shelby Estocado smacked a two-run double to bring home the tying and go-ahead runs in the bottom of the fifth inning Wednesday as Bishop Gorman’s softball team edged visting Spring Valley, 2-1.

Dayton Yingling threw a two-hitter with 13 strikeouts and five walks for Bishop Gorman, which got a double and a run scored from Jasmine Gibson.

Georgi DeLio doubled and scored a run to lead Spring Valley.

Arbor View 5, Legacy 2 — At Arbor View, the Aggies scored four runs in the bottom of the third en route to the win.

Kristina Billante, Chelsa Baca, Letty Rodriguez and Adrianne Drewniak each went 2-for-3 with an RBI for Arbor View.

Drewniak also doubled for the Aggies, who had 13 hits.

Palo Verde 8, Cimarron-Memorial 4 — At Palo Verde, Angel Council went 3-for-4 with an RBI, and Brooke Stover was 2-for-4 with a double to lead the Panthers past the Spartans.

Rachael Turner and Melissa Lacro each went 2-for4, and Breanna Beatty belted a solo homer for Palo Verde.

Sabrina Chavez was 3-for-4 with an RBI, and Sarah Murphy went 2-for-2 with a triple and an RBI for Cimarron.

Durango 8, Pahrump Valley 1 — At Durango, Katie Moore was 2-for-4 with a double, and the Trailblazers did all of their scoring in the fourth inning en route to a win over the Trojans.

Dallas Boyce tossed a three-hitter and struck out seven for Durango.

Mindy Larson was 2-for-3 for Durango.

Desert Oasis 10, Sierra Vista 0 — At Desert Oasis, Shonda Bayados tossed a four-hitter and added two hits as the Diamondbacks blanked the Mountain Lions in five innings.

Allison Baney went 3-for-3 with an RBI, and Emily Heinz and Samantha Caruso each supplied a triple for Desert Oasis, which got an RBI double from Lenzi Cram.

Centennial 11, Shadow Ridge 1 — At Centennial, Heather Bowen, Lauren Stroman, Bailie Nelson and Lexie Morales each hit home runs to power the Bulldogs past the Mustangs in five innings.

Morales smacked a two-run shot to cap a six-run fifth inning and end the game, and Bowen’s homer was her school-record 15th of the season.

Centennial’s Kate Rauskin pitched a five-inning three-hitter with five strikeouts, allowing no earned runs.

Alyssa Finger went 2-for-3 with a triple, and Taylor Huntly was 2-for-3 with a double for the Bulldogs.

Faith Lutheran 15, Cheyenne 0 — At Faith Lutheran, Rachel Kerr tossed a five-inning one-hitter to lead the Crusaders by the Desert Shields.

Mandi Young homered for Faith Lutheran, which got three hits apeice from Bri Yee, Vanessa Valdez and Kelly Zufall.

Boulder City 19, Mojave 2 — At Mojave, Ali Rants went 2-for-2 and scored four runs as the Eagles routed the Rattlers in five innings.

Ashley Perisco was 2-for-2 with two doubles for Mojave.
