ROUNDUP: Tuala, Pioneers hold off host Rams

Adam Tuala pounded out 21 kills, two blocks and two aces Monday to help Canyon Springs’ boys volleyball team outlast host Rancho, 22-25, 25-20, 22-25, 25-17, 15-8.
Jon Jason Duhaylungsod dished out 37 assists for Canyon Springs, which scored the first seven points of the fifth set to take control.
Immanuel Tufuga had 12 kills, and teammate James Harris supplied eight kills and two blocks for the Pioneers.
Guillermo Silva led Rancho with 19 kills, teammate Kendall Reynolds distributed 17 assists, and R’Mond Hill added six kills and seven aces.
Nathan Campo chipped in five aces for the Rams.
Desert Pines 3, Eldorado 2 — At Eldorado, Trevor Krystek posted 11 kills, seven blocks and four aces, and teammate Justin Ngarmnet added 34 assists as the Jaguars outlasted the Sundevils, 22-25, 25-17, 25-15, 22-25, 15-11.
Bryan Garcia added 22 digs for Desert Pines. Thomas Hooper spiked 13 kills, and Julian Jacobs supplied 10 kills and five blocks.
Joey Barnhurst paced Eldorado with 24 assists. Jacob Hollingsworth supplied eight kills, and David Tran had six kills for Eldorado, which got five blocks from Billy Kounovsky.
Bishop Gorman 3, Clark 1 — At Clark, Stephen Zimmerman logged 10 kills to help the Gaels defeat the Chargers, 25-10, 13-25, 25-17, 25-20.
Matt Lychock helped Gorman with 14 assists and six kills, and teammate Chris Shea added nine kills.
Raydel Perez led Clark with eight kills. Quartez Baugus added seven kills, and Edwin Omattu had four kills for Clark.
Spring Valley 3, Western 1 — At Western, Brandon Shi recorded 30 digs and teammate Jim Tan posted 30 assists as the Grizzlies downed the Warriors, 25-17, 25-17, 20-25, 25-9.
Donald Keith supplied 11 kills and four blocks, and Eric Lin had 10 kills for Spring Valley.
Vadell Wilson led Western with 14 kills. U.L. Jamerson dished out 22 assists, and Braeden Smith added four kills, four digs and two aces for the Warriors.
Sierra Vista 3, Durango 0 — At Durango, Paolo Lee had 26 assists and six aces to help the Mountain Lions roll the Trailblazers, 25-14, 25-17, 25-14.
Alec Demarris finished with eight kills and three aces for Sierra Vista, and teammate Clyde Balagtas added four kills and three blocks.
Brendan Kennedy led Durango with nine blocks and two kills.
Las Vegas 3, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Las Vegas High, Garrett Jones posted 12 kills, five aces and seven digs, and teammate Evany Davis recorded 40 assists as the Wildcats swept the Miners, 25-14, 25-16, 25-16.
Darious Childress added five digs and five aces for Las Vegas, which also got five aces from Christian Marquez.
Bonanza 3, Desert Oasis 0 — At Bonanza, Mitchell Barnes had 24 assists and three aces to lead the Bengals to a 25-21, 25-18, 25-14 victory over the Diamondbacks.
Brycen Duckworth and Brian Clow each added 10 kills for Bonanza, and teammate Kavanaugh Buck supplied six kills.
Austin Becker led Desert Oasis with 24 assists and three aces. Alex Trillo and Tanner DuPree each added seven kills, and Tailer Bowen spiked six kills for the Diamondbacks.
Valley 3, Chaparral 0 — At Valley, Jack Heavey recorded eight kills, five aces and three blocks, and teammate Peter Nunes added six kills, 23 assists and seven digs as the Vikings topped the Cowboys, 25-10, 25-12, 25-18.
Lorenzo Capanollo had seven kills and four aces, and Matt Ballaro supplied five kills and two aces for Valley.
Saiquan Charingto led Chaparral with 12 kills and four blocks.
