ROUNDUP: Yu, Chavez help Charger boys run away from Warriors

Jiarong Yu and Oniver Chavez each won two events to lead Clark’s boys track team to an 85-48 victory at Western on Wednesday.

Yu won the 110-meter hurdles in 19.42 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 50.41.

Chavez took the 800 in 2:27.49 and the 1,600 in 5:14.25.

Depth carries Gators to win
At Green Valley, the host Gators won 10 events in eking out a 75-71 victory over Coronado.

Durrell McDonald won the high jump with a mark of 6-8 for Green Valley.

Falcons edge Skyhawks
At Boulder City, Foothill won seven events on its way to 103 points and a victory over Silverado (97), Moapa Valley (39½) and Boulder City (33½).

Silverado’s Basel Affi won the 110 hurdles in 16.4 and the 300 hurdles in 42.0, and Dominic Smallwood took the long jump (20-1) and triple jump (41-11½).

GIRLS

Aliyah Mathews, Amari Norris and Diamond Bond each won two events to power Silverado’s girls track team to victory in a four-team meet at Boulder City on Wednesday.

Silverado won with 106 points, followed by Foothill (88), Moapa Valley (44) and Boulder City (31).

Mathews won the 100-meter dash in 12.3 seconds and the 200 in 25.3. Norris took the 100 hurdles in 15.8 and the 300 hurdles in 47.9, and Bond won the long jump at 14 feet, 9 inches, and the triple jump at 32-10½.

Chargers top Warriors
At Western, Clark won nine events on its way to a 73-34 victory over the host Warriors.

Swaine, Cougars top Gators
At Green Valley, Shayee Swaine won two events to lead Coronado to an 88-57 victory over the Gators.

Swaine won the 200-meter dash in 27.87 and the 400 in 1:02.17.
