ROUNDUP: Williams wins four events as Centennial girls, boys sweep Heitkotter titles

Centennial junior Tamera Williams had a perfect day Saturday, winning two individual events to go along with two relay wins, as she helped the Bulldogs’ girls track team to the team title in the Heitkotter Invitational at Faith Lutheran.
Centennial finished with 206 points. Pahrump Valley was second with 140½ points, followed by Faith Lutheran with 127½ and Bishop Gorman with 83½.
Williams won the 100-meter dash in 12.62 seconds and the 200 in 26.26. She also ran a leg on the Bulldogs’ winning 400 (50.31) and 800 (1:44.28) relay teams.
Tiana Bonds and Sydney Badger took two individual events apiece to help Centennial, which won 13 of the 18 events, including all four relays.
Bonds swept the hurdle events, claiming the 100 in 15.9 seconds and the 300 in 49.07.
Badger claimed the 1,600 in 5:12.48 and the 3,200 in 11:37.38.
BOYS
Kenric Davis and Nick Hartle each won two individual events as Centennial made it a sweep of the team titles.
The Bulldogs had 190 points. Bishop Gorman, led by three individual wins by Demetris Morant, was second with 132, followed by Pahrump with 102 and Del Sol with 93.
Davis won the 100 (11.44) and 200 sprints (23.68).
Hartle ran away with the distance races, taking the 1,600 in 4:25.12 and the 3,200 in 9:54.63.
Gorman’s Morant won three field events, claiming the high jump by clearing 6 feet, the long jump with a mark of 20-9 and the triple jump with a distance of 44-6.
Coronado boys, girls take Valley relay crowns
At Valley, Coronado’s boys won only the high hurdle relay, but used their depth to edge out a first-place finish in the Valley Relays.
Coronado scored 64 points, two more than second-place Shadow Ridge. Liberty was third with 49 points, followed by Canyon Springs with 45.
In the girls meet, Coronado took the 6400 relay and the long jump relay to earn a narrow win.
The Cougars finished with 85 points, five more than Canyon Springs, which won seven events. Liberty was third with 64 points.
