ROUNDUP: Henderson fans 12 to lift Gators past Rams

Fenixx Henderson tossed a two-hit shutout and struck out 12 Thursday to lift Green Valley’s softball team to a 2-0 win over visiting Rancho.

Henderson and Rancho’s Aly Lamboo each carried a shutout into the sixth before the Gators finally got on the board.

Megan Barrera reached on a dropped pop up and scored when Maggie Manwarren’s sacrifice bunt was thrown away.

Henderson’s sacrifice fly plated Manwarren with the second run.

Lamboo settled for a three-hitter with 11 strikeouts.

Coronado 5, Las Vegas 2 — At Coronado, Danielle Amato spun a four-hitter and struck out 11 to help the Cougars top the Wildcats.

Katie Cochran was 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI, and Nicole Hardy went 2-for-3 for Coronado.

Foothill 16, Valley 1 — At Foothill, Alex Petrolia and Jordyn Derflinger combined on a five-inning three-hitter, and the Falcons scored nine runs in the first inning on their way to an easy win over the Vikings.

Eldorado 9, Liberty 3 — At Liberty, Ashley Jarzombek fired a five-hitter to lead the Sundevils past the Patriots.

Elli Brown went 2-for-2 with two RBIs for Liberty.

Basic 20, Canyon Springs 6 — At Basic, Tiana Tapuala went 4-for-5 with a home run and six RBIs  to lead the Wolves past the Pioneers in five innings.

Paige Blake was 4-for-4 for Basic.

Cierra Berkemeier went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs.

Silverado 14, Chaparral 1 — At Silverado, Katie Amaral was 2-for-2 with a home run and three RBIs as the Skyhawks routed the Cowboys.

Kiki Tindel went 2-for-3 with three RBIs for Silverado.

Kaitlynn Crane and Vanessa Rico combined on a five-inning one-hitter for the Skyhawks.

Bishop Gorman 5, Fernley 5 — At Gorman, Miranda Robles finished 1-for-2 with a home run as the Gaels battled the Vaqueros to a draw in the opening game of the Bishop Gorman Tournament.

Faith Lutheran 11, Mountain View 0 — At Faith Lutheran, Rachel Kerr went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs as the Crusaders blasted the Saints in five innings in the Mountain View Spring Slam.

Stacie Graham pitched a three-hit shutout and struck out three for the Crusaders.

Lauryn Lipe went 2-for-2 with an RBI for Faith Lutheran.

Faith Lutheran 7, Arizona Lutheran 5 — At Faith Lutheran, Graham went 2-for-3 with two RBIs as the Crusaders outlasted Arizona Lutheran.

Brittany Mentzer went 2-for-3 with two home runs and all five RBIs for Arizona Lutheran.

Del Sol 14, Moapa Valley 12 — At Overton, the Dragons scored 13 runs in the first three innings and made the most of just three hits to down the Pirates.

Del Sol took advantage of 25 walks.

Elizabeth Robertson went 4-for-4 with two doubles and a run scored to lead Moapa Valley.

Tech 25, Desert Pines 4 — At Tech, Mikaela Tribett went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and tossed a five-inning six-hitter with nine strikeouts as the Roadrunners routed the Jaguars.

Jamison Baston went 3-for-4 with four RBIs for Tech, which led 15-0 after one inning and 20-0 after two.

Mountain View 19, Sandy Valley 13 — At Mountain View, Elle Germany smacked an RBI double to help the Saints hold off the Sidewinders in two innings at the Spring Slam.

Mountain View jumped to a 10-9 lead after the first inning. The game was called after two innings due to a time limit.

Sandy Valley didn’t get a hit in the game.

Sandy Valley 16, Lake Mead 6 — At Mountain View, the Sidewinders took advantage of 14 walks, scoring 16 runs on one hit, to down the Eagles in two innings at the Spring Slam.

Taylor Vetter had a double for Lake Mead.

Arizona Lutheran 20, Lake Mead 4 — At Mountain View, Brittany Mentzer threw a one-hitter to lead the Coyotes in a rout of the Eagles in three innings at the Spring Slam.
