ROUNDUP: Larossee posts two wins as Desert Shields edge Lions

Destinee Larossee won two events Thursday to lead Cheyenne’s girls swim team to a 45-42 win over host Adelson School.

Larossee was first in the 200-meter individual medley with a time of 3 minutes, 12.16 seconds and the 100 butterfly in 1:32.72 to lead the Desert Shields.

The Meadows 44, Mojave 41 — At Adelson, Krista Thompson, Jessie Barra and Natalie Kim each won two events as the Mustangs edged the Rattlers.

Thompson was first in the 200 freestyle (2:49.7) and 100 backstroke (1:28.36), Barra won the 200 individual medley (2:29.65) and 100 butterfly (1:09.0), and Kim took the 50 freestyle (32.35) and 100 breaststroke (1:38.31).

Spring Valley 62, Western 21 — At Adelson, the Grizzlies won eight events to top the Warriors.

Western’s Nadira Koljenovic won the 200 individual medley (2:48.06) and 100 backstroke (1:18.56).

BOYS

Spring Valley 61, Western 27 — At Adelson, Brett Beck, Jay Yang and Nicholas Cabalo each won two events to lead the Grizzlies past the Warriors.

Beck placed first in the 200 freestyle (2:17.43) and 100 backstroke, Yang won the 200 individual medley (2:32.05) and 100 butterfly (1:04.34), and Cabalo won the 100 freestyle (1:03.44) and 500 freestyle (4:47.71).

Adelson School 63, Cheyenne 52 — At Adelson, the Lions won four events to top the Desert Shields.

Cheyenne’s Dylan Thompson won the 50 freestyle (28.34) and 100 breaststroke (1:21.15), and teammate Morgan Thompson was first in the 100 butterfly (1:15.16) and 500 freestyle (5:22.72).

Mojave 69, The Meadows 0 — At Adelson, the Rattlers swam unopposed and rolled to the win.

Yashay Rojas won the 500 freestyle (8:05.13) and 100 breaststroke (2:16.85).
