ROUNDUP: Wisner helps Coronado boys hurdle Dragons, Eagles

Blake Wisner swept the hurdles to lead host Coronado’s boys track team to victory in a three-team meet Thursday.

Wisner won the 110-meter hurdles in 16.1 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 42.3.

The Cougars won with 108 1/2 points, easily outdistancing Del Sol (49 1/2) and Boulder City (28).

Del Sol’s Nick Priego won the 800 in 2:04.6 and the 1,600 in 4:42.2.

Trio leads Mountain Lions to victory
At Sierra Vista, three athletes won two events apiece to lead Sierra Vista to 87 points and a victory over Spring Valley (62) and Western (30).

Sierra Vista’s Kyle Matthews won the 110 hurdles in 17.5 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 45.3. Alex Sherwood took the long jump at 17 feet, 2¼ inches and triple jump at 37-7¾, and Austin Jones won the shot put at 36-1½ and discus at 97-1.

Puente-Infante’s triple helps Grizzlies hold off field
Danica Puente-Infante won three events to run Spring Valley’s girls track team to victory in a three-team meet at Sierra Vista.

Puente-Infante took the 800-meter run in 2:48.3, the 1,600 in 6:09.6 and the 3,200 in 14:00.

Spring Valley won with 90 points, followed by Sierra Vista (69) and Western (13).

Spring Valley’s Tiffany Cannon took the shot put at 27 feet, 10 inches, and the discus at 82-10.

Cougars use depth, relays to dominate three-team meet
At Coronado, the host Cougars won 15 events, including three relays, to score 129 points and pull away from Boulder City (30) and Del Sol (24).
