ROUNDUP: Scoreless draw enough as Skyhawks clinch playoff berth

Silverado’s girls soccer team didn’t score a goal Wednesday, but still got what it needed.
The Skyhawks and visiting Coronado played to a 0-0 tie that gave Silverado the one point it required to clinch a spot in the Sunrise Region playoffs.
The tie sent Silverado (8-4-6, 5-4-5 Southeast) to 20 points in league play, one more than fifth-place Foothill, which lost to Liberty. Liberty also finished with 20 points, but won a tiebreaker against the Skyhawks.
Had Silverado lost, the Skyhawks and Falcons would have met in a play-in match to decide the final Southeast spot in the postseason.
Katelyn Comeno earned the shutout for Silverado, which will face Northeast League champion Eldorado in a quarterfinal Tuesday.
Kaitlyn Fahrner was in goal for Coronado, which finished second in the Southeast and will open tournament play against Valley on Tuesday.
Green Valley 2, Tech 0 — At Green Valley, Londyn Lopez and Cassidy McLean each notched a goal as the Southeast League champion Gators blanked the Roadrunners.
Nicole Dunn picked up the shutout for Green Valley.
Eldorado 2, Valley 0 — At Eldorado, Emily Hipsak and Alexis Sama each netted a first-half goal as the Sundevils completed an undefeated Northeast League campaign.
Nias Olaiz was credited with the shutout for Eldorado, which finished 13-0-1 in league play.
Valley earned the Northeast League’s No. 3 seed for the Sunrise Region tournament.
Las Vegas 3, Rancho 0 — At Las Vegas High, Vanessa Martinez, Andrea Vidales and Mariel Hundley each had a goal as the Wildcats blanked the Rams.
Lauryn Horstdaniel made two saves to earn the shutout for Las Vegas, the Northeast’s No. 2 seed.
Canyon Springs 5, Chaparral 1 — At Chaparral, Jazmine Eshleman tallied three goals and an assist to lead the Pioneers by the Cowboys.
Diamond Larson and Valeria Perez each added a goal for Canyon Springs.
Rosa Martinez scored for Chaparral.
Desert Pines 0, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Desert Pines, the Jaguars and Miners played to a scoreless tie.
Desert Pines’ Alethea Escobar and Sunrise Mountain’s Aryn Bordman each made five saves en route to recording a shutout.
Basic 4, Del Sol 1 — At Del Sol, Nikki Mullins scored twice to help the Wolves down the Dragons.
Tristan Radley and Kali Weires also scored for Basic.
Sterling Torres scored Del Sol’s goal.
