ROUNDUP: Munoz’s quick strike helps Tech draw with Las Vegas

Rafael Munoz scored three minutes into the match Friday to help Tech’s boys soccer team earn a 1-1 tie with visiting Las Vegas High.

Rafa Barajas scored the tying goal for the Wildcats 10 minutes into the match.

Shadow Ridge 2, Virgin Valley 1 — At Mesquite, Erick Gutierrez scored a first-half goal as the Mustangs held off the Bulldogs in the Mesquite Cup.

Blake Demarco converted a penalty kick for Shadow Ridge.

William Lara scored Virgin Valley’s lone goal.

Virgin Valley 4, The Meadows 0 — Lara scored twice to help the Bulldogs blank the Mustangs.

Danny Medina added a goal and an assist for Virgin Valley, which did all its scoring in the first half.

Ivan Diaz also scored for the Bulldogs.

Miguel Martinez and Julio Medina combined on the shutout.

GIRLS

Faith Lutheran 1, Elko 0 — At Reno, Morgan Bracey’s first-half goal accounted for the only scoring as the Crusaders bounced back from an opening-match loss to Galena to even their record at 1-1 in the Howell Memorial Tournament.

Faith Lutheran’s Kelly Zufall made 11 saves to register the shutout.

Galena 4, Faith Lutheran 0 — At Reno, Brooke Cherry scored twice during the first half as the Grizzlies downed the Crusaders.

Taelour Dufur and Tori Hagan also scored for Galena.
