SMALL SCHOOLS: Triple winner Woodbury lifts Eagles to boys title

Joe Woodbury won three events and was runner-up in another on Saturday to lead the host Boulder City boys track team to the title in the Class 3A Southern League meet.

Woodbury won the 100-meter dash in 11.63 seconds, the 200 in 22.8, the 110 hurdles in 15.89 and was second in the 400 in 50.32. The Eagles won the team title with 75 points, and Moapa Valley was second with 70.

“I like the 400 best,” said Witter, who also holds the record for the 800, set in 2010. “I see myself as more of a sprinter than a distance runner.”
