ROUNDUP: Benham tosses Diamondbacks past Mountain Lions

Jacob Benham posted winning marks in the shot put and discus Tuesday to lead Desert Oasis’ boys track team to a 79-64 road win over Sierra Vista.

Benham won the shot put with a throw of 44 feet, 11 inches, and took the discus with a toss of 136-8.

Sierra Vista’s Matt Murphy won the 110-meter hurdles in 16.3 seconds and high jump at 6-0. Maiscei Grier added wins in the long jump (17-4) and triple jump (40-11¼) for the Mountain Lions.

Valley tops Eldorado
At Valley, Alex Dori and Kennedy Williams each won two events to lead the Vikings to a 72-65 win over Eldorado.

Dori won the 110 hurdles in 17.7 and 300 hurdles in 40.6, and Williams took the high jump at 5-8 and long jump at 20-1.

Eldorado’s Javen Nihipali won the 100 in 11.1 and 200 in 23.1, and Eddie Esquivel took the 800 in 2:11.8 and 3,200 in 10:55.4 for the Sundevils.

Liberty edges Silverado, Coronado
At Coronado, Jordan Kapeli won the shot put at 51-3½ and the discus at 152-3 to lead Liberty to 66 points, edging Silverado (63) and Coronado (57).

Silverado’s Ladale Jackson won the 100 in 11.1 and the 400 in 51.6.
