ROUNDUP: Picoy’s two-out RBI single helps Gaels top Grizzlies

Morgan Picoy’s single with two outs in the top of the seventh inning Tuesday plated Dayton Yingling with the go-ahead run as Bishop Gorman’s softball team downed host Spring Valley, 10-7.
Yingling started Gorman’s rally with a two-out triple. After a walk, Picoy singled, and Mikayla Coffey added a two-run double.
Picoy finished 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI, and Victoria Villanueva went 2-for-3 with two runs for Gorman. O’Sheyon Rollins was 1-for-1 with four walks and five stolen bases for the Gaels.
Jessica Martinez went 2-for-2 with a triple, a run and an RBI, and Ashlee Coate was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI for the Grizzlies.
Durango 21, Pahrump Valley 11 — At Pahrump, Mindy Larson homered and added two doubles, and the Trailblazers used an 11-run third inning on their way to a win over the Trojans.
Katie Moore homered, and Nicole Schultz added two doubles and a single for Durango.
Miranda Monje had four hits, including a home run and a double, for Pahrump, and teammates Sara Zinnecker and Casey Sierra added three hits apiece.
Bonanza 15, Western 4 — At Bonanza, Raquell Scholz went 3-for-3 with two RBIs, and the Bengals used a nine-run second inning to build a 14-0 lead and cruise past the Warriors in five innings.
Emily Osborn was 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs for Bonanza.
Desert Oasis 15, Sierra Vista 1 — At Sierra Vista, Emily Heinz tripled and doubled to help the Diamondbacks down the Mountain Lions in five innings.
Arbor View 17, Legacy 3 — At Legacy, Kristina Billante went 4-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs as the Aggies blitzed the Longhorns in five innings.
Chelsea Baca was 3-for-5 with two triples and two RBIs for Arbor View.
Danielle Peck went 2-for-2 with two RBIs for Legacy.
Centennial 16, Shadow Ridge 1 — At Shadow Ridge, Heather Bowen ripped a pair of two-run doubles in the second inning as the Bulldogs rolled the Mustangs in five innings.
Savannah Horvath went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, and teammate Ballie Nelson was 2-for-2 with a RBI for Centennial.
Mary Jordan went 2-for-2 for Shadow Ridge.
Cheyenne 19, Faith Lutheran 14 — At Cheyenne, Bailey Benson finished 4-for-5 with three doubles, two runs scored and seven RBIs to help the Desert Shields outslug the Crusaders.
Faith Lutheran rallied from a 6-3 second inning deficit to take a 14-12 lead in the fifth inning, but the Desert Shields scored once in the fifth and added six runs in the sixth.
Clark 3, Boulder City 2 — At Clark, Kaitlyn Szeles singled home Jasmine Fukuda with the go-ahead run in a two-run sixth inning that lifted the Chargers past the Eagles.
Shannon Chapman, who went 2-for-3, scored the tying run on an error earlier in the sixth inning for Clark. Winning pitcher Julia Hagen tossed a five-hitter and went 2-for-3 with a double.
Boulder City’s Karlee Koopman fired a six-hitter.
Virgin Valley 23, Mojave 1 — At Mojave, the Bulldogs pounded out 35 hits and used an eight-run first inning and a nine-run fifth to rout the Rattlers in five innings.
Calvary Chapel 15-14, The Meadows 0-2 — At Kenny Guinn Park, Jamie Schmidt went 6-for-8 with three home runs in the doubleheader to help the Lions sweep the Mustangs.
Schmidt went 3-for-4 in each game, belting two of the Lions’ six home runs in the opener.
Phallen Nelson, Chelsea England, Samantha Mann and Emma Cheetham also homered for Calvary Chapel in the first game. Nelson went 3-for-5.
In the nightcap, Tori Carroll, Dani Camacho and Schmidt homered. Kristin Ulrich was 3-for-3, and Carroll went 2-for-3 for the Lions.
Indian Springs 8-19, Laughlin 3-2 — At Indian Springs, Alexxa Reinke went a combined 5-for-5 with two home runs and five RBIs in the doubleheader as the Thunderbirds rolled past the Cougars.
Brandi Bryl was 3-for-3 with a triple and six RBIs in the nightcap for Indian Springs.
