ROUNDUP: Marlett’s three-hitter leads Rams’ shutout of Vikings

Brandy Marlett fired a three-hit shutout Monday to lead Rancho’s softball team to a 3-0 home victory over Valley.

Marlett struck out 11 and walked two.

Amber Marlett was 2-for-3 to lead the Rams’ offense.

Valley’s Jasmine Villamar went 2-for-3.

Chaparral 9, Sunrise Mountain 6 — At Chaparral, JeNiece Morgan went 4-for-4 with three runs and two RBIs as the Cowboys defeated the Miners.

Valerie Talamantez also went 4-for-4 for Chaparral.

Samantha Venerable was 3-for-4 to lead Sunrise Mountain.

Foothill 8, Green Valley 1 — At Foothill, Rhiana Balaun hit a two-run home run as part of a four-run first inning to help the Falcons beat the Gators.

Balaun finished with three RBIs and Pamela Sakuma went 2-for-3 for Foothill, which scored four more runs in the fourth inning.

Coronado 16, Liberty 11 — At Coronado, Amanda Garrison was 3-for-4 with three RBIs, and the Cougars scored seven runs in the fifth inning to rally past the Patriots.

Lee Harrison went 2-for-4 with a double, a triple and three RBIs, and Katie Cochran was 2-for-4 with three RBIs for Coronado.

The Cougars trailed 10-9 going into the bottom of the fifth, but Harrison’s two-run triple highlighted a streak that included five runs with two outs in the inning.

Liberty’s Diana Cassaro was 3-for-3 with two doubles and three RBIs, and Francesca Foti went 2-for-5 with a triple and three RBIs for the Patriots.

Las Vegas 11, Eldorado 3 — At Las Vegas, Kristina Nelson was 3-for-3 with three runs to lead the Wildcats past the Sundevils.

Las Vegas’ Jamye Cooley went 2-for-3, including a two-run triple.

Teresa Cianflocco was 3-for-4 for Eldorado, and Cheyanne Schindler went 2-for-3.

Tech 21, Del Sol 5 — At Del Sol, Amanda Roark and Jordyn Roark each went 3-for-5, and the Roadrunners scored multiple runs in every inning en route to a five-inning rout of the Dragons.

Sabrina Sawyer was 3-for-4, and Emmalyne Laymon and Kimmie Rodriguez each added two hits for Tech.

Desiree Orozco was 2-for-3 for Del Sol.

Canyon Springs 29, Desert Pines 2 — At Desert Pines, Dari Carter was 3-for-4 with three runs as the Pioneers rolled the Jaguars.

Canyon Springs’ Marisa Bryant pitched a five-inning two-hitter.

Arbor View 10, Durango 6 — At Durango, Ashlyn Ames went 2-for-3 with two home runs and five RBIs, and the Aggies built a 10-2 lead heading into the bottom of the seventh and held off the Trailblazers.

Karli Lehr was 4-for-5, and Kristina Billante was 2-for-3 for Arbor View.

Kendal Short went 2-for-4 with a double for Durango.
