ROUNDUP: Divicino, Skyhawks hold on for home win over Cougars
Kyle Divicino had 23 kills and eight blocks, and Jordan Royal added 11 kills and 13 digs
Tuesday as Silverado’s boys volleyball team outlasted visiting Coronado, 25-23, 27-25, 24-26, 24-26, 18-16 in a showdown for first place in the Southeast League.
Indigo Varela added 40 assists, and Steven Jex had eight blocks for the Skyhawks (9-1, 6-0 Southeast).
Byrin Romney dished out 55 assists to pace Coronado (7-3, 5-1). Chris Andrulis supplied 24 kills, and Jahren Makanoa had 15 kills for the Cougars.
Legacy 3, Cheyenne 2 — At Legacy, Justin Paquin hammered the decisive kill as the Longhorns rallied from a 7-0 fifth-set deficit for a 25-21, 25-22, 23-25, 21-25, 19-17 victory over the Desert Shields.
Paquin finished with 19 kills for Legacy. Cris Reyes notched 19 digs for Legacy, and Erik Valerio had 48 assists.
Shaq Wilson paced Cheyenne with 12 kills, 10 blocks and two digs. Nathan Pryor supplied 12 kills, three digs and two blocks for the Desert Shields.
Cheyenne’s Casey Johansen tallied eight kills, five digs and two blocks, and Zack Pacleb added 17 assists, two digs and two blocks.
Del Sol 3, Basic 2 — At Del Sol, Cameron Ely had 14 kills and 10 digs to help the Dragons hold on for a 25-14, 25-19, 21-25, 21-25, 15-9 victory over the Wolves.
Eric Beil had 13 kills and four blocks for Del Sol, and Kevin Fitzpatrick supplied 10 kills, six aces and three blocks. Nick Maglaras dished out 43 assists for the Dragons.
Tanner Humpherys led Basic with 20 kills, 15 digs and five blocks.
Weston Crum added 14 kills and 10 digs for the Wolves. Mark Bowman added six kills and nine blocks, and John Fitz had 45 assists and six digs.
Arbor View 3, Cimarron-Memorial 1 — At Cimarron, Gennady Shataev had 15 kills, 16 digs and two aces to lead the Aggies to a 16-25, 25-12, 25-23, 25-15 victory over the Spartans.
Richie Garness had 39 assists, and Shiloh Pechacek added 12 digs and two aces for Arbor View.
Tanner Maxwell paced Cimarron with seven kills, six digs and 12 assists. Taylor Larsen added 14 assists for the Spartans.
Foothill 3, Liberty 1 — At Liberty, Darius Gates collected 20 digs, and Dominic Hoffman dished out 15 assists to help lead the Falcons to a 25-18, 25-19, 26-28, 25-20 win over the Patriots.
Tyler Close put down nine kills for Foothill.
Daniel Filimona had four kills, and Oscar Palma added four assists to lead Liberty.
Green Valley 3, Tech 0 — At Green Valley, Beau Gronert had 17 kills to lead the Gators to a 25-9, 25-16, 25-22 sweep of the Roadrunners.
James Byrne added 10 kills, and Nick Hevrin distributed 34 assists for Green Valley.
Dalton Webb had seven kills to lead Tech.
Shadow Ridge 3, Mojave 0 — At Mojave, Jalen Makaiwa had 20 assists and five aces as the Mustangs rolled to a 25-6, 25-5, 25-16 win over the Rattlers.
Austin Jones added four aces and four kills for Shadow Ridge.
