ROUNDUP: Versatile Miranda helps Mountain Lions fend off Grizzlies

Preston Miranda had 23 assists, 11 kills, five digs and four blocks Monday to help Sierra Vista’s boys volleyball team outlast visiting Spring Valley, 27-25, 24-26, 25-21, 21-25, 15-13.

Khrumm Fahim logged 15 kills, three blocks and four digs, and Cameron Carlson added 11 kills, two blocks and two digs for the Mountain Lions.

Blake Ringer paced the Grizzlies with 22 kills and four aces.

Bonanza 3, Clark 1 — At Clark, Craig Whiting supplied 42 assists, and Price Jarman had 15 kills as the Bengals topped the Chargers, 25-18, 25-15, 16-25, 27-25.

Jared Hyer added 14 kills, and Cru Leavitt posted four blocks for Bonanza.

David Samson had 24 assists, four digs and three kills, and George Huang added 13 kills, six digs and six blocks for Clark. Raydell Perez contributed seven kills and four digs, and Johnny Phane had six blocks and four kills for the Chargers.

Desert Oasis 3, Durango 0 — At Durango, Zach Bobenhausen had 16 kills, five blocks and two digs to lead the Diamondbacks to a 25-15, 25-22, 25-20 victory over the Trailblazers.

Trevor Zarvian added 29 assists, five kills and four digs for Desert Oasis, and teammate Danny Eslinger had 14 digs.

Josh Maury led Durango with nine kills and nine digs. Caleb Snook added 21 assists and three aces for the Trailblazers.

Bishop Gorman 3, Western 1 — At Gorman, Bobby Houser had 23 kills to lead the Gaels to a 25-10, 16-25, 25-9, 25-12 win over the Warriors.

Gorman’s Matt Lychock added seven kills, and Cameron Tom dished out 33 assists for the Gaels.

Mario Mendoza led Western with seven kills, and teammate Nash McIntosh had 12 assists.

Cimarron-Memorial 3, Cheyenne 0 — At Cimarron, Tanner Maxwell had 13 kills and 19 assists to lead the Spartans to a 25-16, 25-23, 25-23 sweep of the Desert Shields.

Taylor Larsen dished out 22 assists, and Hunter Stratton added 13 kills and six digs for Cimarron, which got eight kills from Ares Manumaleuna.

Nathan Pryor had eight kills and two digs, and Shaq Wilson added six kills and three blocks for Cheyenne.

Rancho 3, Chaparral 0 — At Rancho, Guillermo Silva had 13 kills to lead the Rams to a 25-13, 25-19, 25-15 sweep of the Cowboys.

Kyle Stankosky added eight kills for Rancho. Kendall Reynolds tallied 12 assists and three aces, and Nathan Campo added 13 assists for the Rams.

Sunrise Mountain 3, Eldorado 0 — At Sunrise Mountain, Cody Trapp had seven blocks and eight kills as the Miners swept the Sundevils, 25-17, 25-15, 25-12.

Alex Bravo had four aces and five kills for Sunrise Mountain, and teammate Alex Benitez added seven kills and two aces.

Valley 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Canyon Springs, Peter Nunes distributed 32 assists as the Vikings downed the Pioneers, 25-20, 25-16, 25-22.

Ignacio Diaz had 13 kills and five aces, and Lawrence Palma added nine kills for the Vikings.

Jon Duhaylungod logged 16 assists for Canyon Springs, and teammate James Harris added six blocks.

Las Vegas 3, Desert Pines 0 — At Desert Pines, Luke Hansen had 29 assists, four kills and three aces to help the Wildcats to a 25-13, 25-15, 25-18 sweep of the Jaguars.

Jimichael Baker added 11 kills and three blocks, and Garrett Jones had eight kills and four blocks for Las Vegas.

Tony Savea paced Desert Pines with eight assists and three blocks, and teammate Trevor Krystek added seven digs and five kills.
